I'm just starting to set aside things for the trip to Canuckistan. And I'm already overwhelmed by the amount of wires and cables:
GPS - car charger ipone - car charger, earbuds, wall charger/USB cable Cameras (2) - card readers, USB cable (different end than iphone USB) Zoom H2 - wall wart, extra set of batteries. pc - charger, mouse, backup USB storage thingies.
And I haven't touched guitar stuff yet ! ! ! My gig bag will probably get somewhat emptied out, though. I don't expect to need to plug-in anywhere. But there's normally chords and pedals and wall warts in there.
My goodness.

Speaking about mules, SteveO, I wore your straw hat with Bubba hair band down in Gulf Shores, LA last week.

And I haven't touched guitar stuff yet ! ! ! I had the same problem and thought a tool roll might serve as a suitable tote. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a tool (chisel) tote but, at Lowe's for 77 cents, we found a perfect kit. It's a carpenter's nail apron. Fiddlerina sewed pockets into it and moved the ties. Now it's a perfect cord caddy. See below. Front: Back: Have fun. - Dub

It does just exactly what I need and works great. Sold as a cord caddy it would probably cost ten bucks but as a nail apron with a store logo, it's almost free. Well, free with about fifteen minutes of Fiddlerina's sewing labor. - Dub

Dump one of the cameras. Why are you taking two? One card should hold every single picture you could possibly take - at least mine do. I think I took about 150 pictures the first year, a little less last year. One card holds about 500 pics for me.
Earbuds? Why are you going to be listening to music in private when it will be all around you? What are you, antisocial?
iPhone should hold a charge just fine from the car charger, given how much you're driving. No need for that other stuff.
You should unplug this weekend. Ditch the computer.
Ditch the GPS. It's head to Canada on the interstate, cross the border, get on a road that takes you to Owen Sound. Unplug. I found that there's this company called Rand-McNally that makes books with pictures that show me how to get places. It's more fun that way, anyway.
My recordings never amounted to much, but that's because I wasn't recording at the right times, I guess. I've been lucky Gene catches the performances in Vinton.
Just my $0.02.
