Good morning. It's chilly here as well. In a little while I'll take Julia to the airport and Sandra will leave later today. All good things come to an end. Enjoy your day.

Morning. It's not too cold here today, and it's not snowing, at least not right now.
Somebody messed up yesterday's forecast. We were supposed to get 1" to 3", but we got at least 6". And I have over 12" sitting on top of my barbecue grill.
We saw Avatar in 3D yesterday. I couldn't wait for it to come out on Blu-ray, and I'm glad I didn't. I didn't notice it until we got home, but the 3D glasses are not the typical red & green. Do they work on other 3D movies, or are they Avatar-specific?

Frosts like snows the last two days and 45 mph winds prevented frost friday. Christmas with the two kids and 4 grandkids last evening (in-laws won out for the big day). Off to services in a while where the bluegrassin' Wilson family will share a couple of songs. Good morning to all! Blessed, although the cats aren't sure, Dan

G'morning. It's been fifty years since I've seen a 3 D movie. They've been around most of my life but I just quit going to the ones they did put out. But we are going to this one. Too much talk going on about it for me to miss this one.
There is still a little snow on the ground from our white Christmas. It's 32 right now so it might be around another day.
As part of my New Year's plan I'm starting up my guitar lessons next week and I'm really looking forward to getting back into some improvisation work.
Have good days everyone.

I'm going to play my guitar in 3D today.
I went up to Goshen for the old-timey jam yesterday. It's always a mix of fun and frustration. The level of most of the players is uneven at best. There was an okay fiddler there yesterday. I found myself leading many of the tunes with guitar -- not an easy feat 'cause I've got to play loud enough to lead and that usually (for me) sacrifices accuracy. I did okay, though.
The most frustrating thing about that group, though, is a guy who's become a regular. He brings a really well-made, good-sounding washtub bass. But he plays EVERY tune exactly backwards -- his 1s and 5s reversed through the whole thing. You think that doesn't mess up a fiddle tune jam?! It's crazy. His bass line is exactly opposite both my guitar's boom-chuck and the mandolin's chop.

My oh-so-nifty new Boss looper has a "reverse" mode that plays your stuff back backwards. That might help your bass player, John.
Getting over to mom's today for our Christmas celebration, finally. Been more or less snowed in for days now. Its going to be great to finally get out!!!

That might help your bass player, John. So might a hand across his strings. Or a different room to play in where the rest of the jammers are not.

Had a great Christmas. All six daughters, five of the seven grandkids, plus Rosemaries mom. We had a great time at daughter #2's house about a mile from here. I hope you all had as good a holiday.

Bob, whenever I think of you I see a background of daughters and poodles. Pretty nice, if you ask me. We are off today to visit with our friends Anne and Daniel. She has the bug to cook something French and tasty. We are the audience. It might snow. I slept in. I'm kinda tired.

Good Morning Good People
A few inches of fresh snow overnite on top of the ice from the Christmas freeze-thaw-freeze cycle. Staying home this morning due to a lingering cold, for which I have no patience.
Road trip scheduled tomorrow to Lansing, thence to the home office and several stops in the five-county metro Detroit area. If all goes well I might reward myself with a stop at Elderly on the return leg.
Have a peaceful snowy Sunday one and all.

I had my first long ski of the year (well, long for me, it was only 16 km) and my legs are toast this morning. We have church and likely more skiing on today. Hopefully tonight I'm going over to a friend's studio to lay down a few more tracks as well.
Hasn't anybody mentioned to the bass player that this isn't a jazz jam?

Getting a new battery for the van today, some recording, and then out to visit a bunch of friends this evening.
Be fun to have a jam, John, but I can see how that would drive you crazy. Couple of kids in my girls' school in yungerdottir's grade, (7), who have loud, strong voices, are very willing, but couldn't sing in tune to save their lives. So, in music class, they happily bellow badly over top of everyone else.
Such is the nature of amateur music, in those kinds of situations.

Good Morning Stayed up real late (for me) and didn't get up until just after 9AM. Just got done making Spam McMuffins, yummy. I need sponges, lots of them. The guitar case humidifier season is upon us and I can sell every soap box humidifier that I can make, and I can make a lot of them in a hour. Off to the store to buy sponges.

Good morning! Yungerdottir arrived on time last night and we had a lovely everning before turning in early and sleeping in late this ayem.
It is cold and sunny and still and white out there -- a gorgeous winter's day. I made a huge batch of chili yesterday that should fend off the ravenous appetites of both dottirs and one dottir-beau for a couple of days, I reckon. Elderdottir and Beau arrive late tomoro night.
Then my little house will be filled with life, lemme tell ya!

I predicted a couple of inches for you folks, but apparently that was an error. We had Christmas with friends in their home yesterday, which was lots of fun (I'm not bad a pictionary, I guess), but we're up and attem and ready (I'm not ready, but I'm going) shopping at an outlet mall. Hoo-boy!
