So, let me know your preference.
I thought that Memorial Day would be best because there is an automatic extra day for you all.

I'm not voting yet. Let me cogitate about it. I want to see what others say. i have my preference. But I'll hold my piece for the moment. I'm coming whenever, come hell or high water.

I'm not likely to be able to make it, sekh! But things could take a turn for the better in the next two or three months. Sooooo don't base your plans on my comments but if I could make the trip Memorial Day wouldn't be the best for me since I typically work on holidays and get a comp day soon after.
So make your plans to fit the schedule of the other members but don't be shocked if, by chance, I come wandering into the crowd like a stray dog.

I think Memorial day is the 25th, so that weekend would be the 23rd and 24th. The following weekend is the 30th and 31st of May, and the weekend after that would be the 6th and 7th. I'm still working on options, so am in limbo for a choice right now.

Me too, except I'm not going to hold my "piece". I'm putting together something of a cross country trip itinerary with stops in Iowa(?), Chicago (for sure), Indiana (?), Detroit (?) and then SwanJam. Its all 100% up in the air right now. Just need some stuff to settle out. The only hard stops I've got are my daughters are graduating from High School on May 20 (that's a wednesday). Can't miss that. And Angie finishes for the year the following week (I think). It would be nice to be here for that. I guess that boils down to a little later in the season, rather than a little earlier would be good for me....meaning the week after Memorial day would be the first week I could tentatively make it.

And I am tentatively now thinking of driving to Chicago to meet the Millermobile, and truck-pooling with him to Owen Sound, via Guelph.

I'm waiting also. I would also need to know the nearest major airport to check on flights and cost thereof. Memorial day weekend seems logical, though if it can be worked out.

If it works out that there are enough poolers to make it worth while, I've got my old Suburban I could bring, which means I could pick up quite a few folks along the way. I'm figuring I'll have at least one or two kids with me, which means I would have room for at least three or four additional riders.

I haven't voted yet. I'll need to check out some other weekends to see what conflicts may present themselves. Fiddlerina says she'll take vacation to make the trip on any weekend you decide to have it. I think we'll be in Mt. View, AR, the weekend before Memorial Day so it might be nice to have a weekend in the middle without a many hours road trip. But what the heck. We're young. ;D - Dub

This is so exciting!
Alan, the nearest major airport is Toronto! It's two hours away on good highway. We would be so happy to see you!

And remember, all roads to Owen Sound lead through Detroit.
Someone could pick you up there (probably easier than going out of the way to Toronto).
Or, you can rent a car in Detroit. I think they still have a few extras sitting around.

Good point Marshall. I just don't think of Detroit as major. But I guess it is in terms of air transport in the States.

Just found out from faithful wife that my last remaining child graduates from HS on the Friday or Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend. So, I don't want my tentative plans to mess up everyone elses but that is a no go for me. (Lest I be divorced and forsaken)
