Since the purpose of this thread is to pick a date, I think that's fine.
I too have a commitment that would make the Memorial Day weekend an impossibility (same thing, actually: High School graduation).
For me, the first possible date would be the weekend of May 30/31. And I would prefer to have it on June 6/7.

I checked flights to Detroit. The roundtrip fare for that four-hour flight is roughly half what it was to fly two hours to San Antonio recently. I'll never comprehend this stuff.

Since I have never met any of you in person, I would love to just be able to be "the fly on the wall"!!!
Humbling presenting as the least skilled BUT most appreciative of talent member of this community, I'd love to attend one of your jams.
I get out of work for the summer after June 11 (or there 'bouts). It would have to be after that time for me to attend so I'll be a-watchin' to see what you all decide.
Kate, that pic of your yard is SO inviting!

Well there's a couple ways to correct that.
One - you could go to Swan-jam. There's be at least three other ladies (Joy and Kate and Kari), incase that is a concern. (always a little more disconcerting for gals than guys).
or Two - You could come to idiot-Jam sometime in September. Which will be closer travel-wise. (And Joy and Kari and Todd's wife Kim and other chicks will be there).

And, Resolve, you need to stop thinking of it as one of "your" jams and start thinking in terms of "our" jams.

Oh Hell woman, if you can put up with us for this long, you can certainly feel at home.
It's "our jams" from here on in.

Resolve, if I'm counting correcty we had 7 or 8 women at Ijam last year. In 2009 we'd love to see those numbers go up. And you can help! You can help with Swanjam too. I've never been to Owen Sound, but I've seen the pictures, read the stories, heard the music. My senses of taste and touch haven't been satisfied, but I be it's going to be a romping good time up there.

You're all being very sweet and welcoming! Truth be told, it's not the gender issue that holds me back as much as the skill differential!!* I suspect my curiosity will win out at some point and I'll just have to meet all of you!! ;D *and we all know whose fault THAT is!!!

resolve, don't let the skill level hold you back. No one cares a bit. Some forumites are so totally talented that you and I will never keep up. I don't play in public. These days I don't play anything. If you want to play you can, if you would rather just hang out, that's wonderful too. This is a real laid back good time we're planning. Just get here and all will be fine.

Remember.....everyone that goes to SwanJam has to go to IdiotJam too. Doing one and not the other isn't an option.
It's a two-part thing.

"Truth be told, it's not the gender issue that holds me back as much as the skill differential!!"
That troubled me before my first jam. Don't let it. Most of us aren't all that good. Many of us play cowboy chords.

I'm starting to think the best option for Fiddlerina and will be the weekend just after Memorial Day. But if it's scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, we'll be there. - Dub On Edit: I went to vote but can't vote for the weekend after Memorial Day (May 29, 30 & 31). The weekend after that is June 5, 6 & 7. I didn't want to vote for "other" because that seems to imply some weekend that's not Memorial Day or the following weekend.

"Which date is best for you for SwanJam?"
Probably Reese Witherspoon. I'd take Angelina Jolie if Reese already had a date.
