John M.B., where is the think in Kalamazoo this weekend? I've got an aunt & uncle and a couple of cousins who live there, and I'll pass along an invite. Not nearly enough of my female relatives have gotten the chance to gaze into your wonderfully blue...pottery.

Oh yeah, I turned off the the heat a few days ago because the temps were in the high 60's - low 70's. This morning it was about 20, with no heat on.

'Morning everyone, I do love reading the daily here! After battling with horrendous pain for the past month, my daughter had her tooth extracted this morning. She has only one filling in her mouth and the tooth that has had that filling broke! She started the procedure for a root canal a few weeks ago but the pain has just continued to be so intense that finally they decided to pull it. I'm the "ice pack rotation" nurse for the rest of the day as she recuperates on the couch. She said she already feels better so I'm relieved. After 2 days of parent conferences it doesn't exactly feel bad to have reason to have taken the day off from work today. The conferences went fine but it's just fatiguing to spend part of the day teaching and the rest of the day conferencing (or rather, "conferring", as Bill corrects me ) with parents. VI, you can play the "I Can't Wait for Spring" etude all day long and I'd play right along with you! It's cold and windy today...at least the sun is shining though. Speaking of playing....I am grateful to have some time to put my little Martin on my lap and do just that today! Stay warm everyone and "good health" to all who ail.

Well, I never made it to work today. Last night around 6, I started feeling a chest pressure that made me uneasy, and with my recent high BP back and stuff, I decided to be prudent for a change and drove over to Urgent Care, where they were even more prudent in sending me to a hospital for a full cardio checkup. This morning, I have had a stress test and echocardiagram, lots of blood draws and very little food.
BUT things look good, I will chat with a doc soon, should be discharged this afternoon and I no doubt be back on BP and cholesterol drugs that I was able to discontinue last summer thanks to lotsa exercise and weight loss. It's just been a really long winter, and I guess that unless I am willing to use indoor exercise gear -- which I hate -- I need to be medded up during the inactive months.

What're you, a bear? Get a treadmill. Get an exercise bike and watch Rachel Maddow.
Unless you already have a place to hang your laundry.
Glad it's a false alarm.

Doesn't matter, Bill. Glad things are looking OK. I deleted my last post, because I misread the "laundry" line -- FUNNY!

Winter is still lingering. It's cloudy and windy today and in the 20s. I know I sound like a stuck record, but boy am I ready for spring. For those new to Iowa, it will become reliably warm... in JUNE!- Dub

Home from Hell. 8 days to go and then the surgery deal ... so it's ten days in all.
I count.
It's nice to be where it doesn't smell of antiseptic and (urine).

Hang in, Kate. Hold that vision of the other side of this thing, where all is well and you have some more fruitful years on earth.

It's nice to be where it doesn't smell of antiseptic and (urine). Isn't that just the worst?!?! I know exactly what smell you are talking about...that mix of lots of cleaners and disinfectants fighting a losing battle against lots of incontinence. Just the worst! Hang in there, Goddess!
