Stayed up to watch the Australian F1 GP - gonna be an interesting year of F1 racing.
Looks like it may be an almost spring like day in the frozen north - above freezing - but the snow is coming.
Have a good day y'all.

You guys are nuts to be up so late.
Today at church we are celebrating the Fifth Sunday. This a day that we leave the church building behind and go out into the community to do good works. Today we are going to Even Start, it is a resource program for young (read teenage and poor)families. The mothers learn childcare skills, reading, how to fill out employment applications etc.
We will be cleaning the building, the men will build a shelter over the playground. After yesterday's inclimate weather, we may be cleaning the grounds.
This is the first time we have done something like this. It is a different feeling, knowing the church doors are locked and we have gone out into the community to minister to the community.

Good Morning Good People
Rainy this morning, rinsing the soil off the driveway after a Saturday afternoon spent cutting down an overgrown bush and digging out the stump -- had to remove the bush to repair the brick on the front porch and plant another bush.
Off to church, thence working with onlidottir on her research paper for English class. Hopefully a nap and some music along the way.
Have a peaceful Sunday one and all.

Morning. We're getting some of that snow, but it hasn't accumulated much so far. With any luck, I won't even have to shovel (or blow, in my case).

Look out the window again, Jim.
Of course this is supposed to be a widely varied snow across the region. And it's coming down WIDE and deep over this neck of the woods.
Looks like I'm gong to have to go out in it in a minute and shake the heavy snow off the arbor vitae that are presently bent to the ground under the weight.
Then off to church through the frozen northland.

The wolf's dying last breath ? I like that Marshall! ...and I hope you are right. I'm a bit discouraged to wake up to the winter wonderland (as in I "wonder" why we live in Wisconsin where we endure such winters). I know it won't last though so it doesn't have the same feel as a January storm. Yesterday was fun. I drove out to my "band mate's" house and she took me to the cafe where she has made a contact for us to possibly play this summer. She also had just purchased a new keyboard earlier in the day and a stack of music so she was really excited. I'm going to spend the day making some chord sheets for the drummer and me from the sheet music she bought (which I took home with me yesterday). Last night we met my daughter in law's parents for dinner. They are such nice and fun people. It's so wonderful that we all get along so well...my own family is very small so it's been a blessing to have expanded our family through my son's wedding this past summer. Today I must deal with household chores that have stacked up as they tend to do in a busy life. Then I intend to "get lost" in musical pursuits. Tomorrow I have scheduled a half day off from work in the morning to have my meeting with the state retirement representative. It will seem kinda nice to not head into work til the afternoon! Although mornings contain my planning time so I will miss out on that which means I'll end up staying late tomorrow. Have a great Sunday everyone. May it pass slowly!!

The wind was howling and the snow was coming down like a blanket last night, but we woke up this morning to no more than a couple inches melting in the sun. You are correct, Cyndy. This does not feel like January at all.

Good Morning
I haven't stepped outside yet but it's blue sky and sunny out there. DaWife and I are going to do what I call running around today. Book store, grocery store, sister's house, Bill's house, lunch out somewhere and just maybe a new chair for my desk, the old one is wrecking my back.
