Mornin'..... Later than I usually get up on a Saturday. Can't walk anywhere in the downstairs as Shay had two friends spend the night, and their crap is EVERYWHERE. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

Wow. I slept in until 8:00. Woohoo. Staying up installing software is tiring work... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Jim, Jim, Jim.... though I do like the analogy about the horror movie.

Shakin' cobwebs here. I made a little road trip to Stillwater last night to a BBQ joint that I've been meaning to try, and once there it dawned on me that Lonnie Knight and Reid Papke were playing that night at Ruby Begonia's on the other side of town. I don't get to hear Lonnie with his bass player very often, so I toodled over there to catch the act, but being a real nightclub rather than a coffeehop they started well after 9:30 and I got home late.... but they sounded great and I even got to sit in for a couple of Lonnie's tunes. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) It is chilly here, like the winds of autumn, but pleasant nonetheless. The State Fair has been setting attendance records -- combination of nice weather and people forgoing vacations for something affordable, like Fun On A Stick .... I guess. Trader Joe's is calling me .. my larder is empty ...

My son's been at college for one week today as well. We're headed home, having spent the night in a sneezy motel in Eugene, OR. 8 hours left of driving until we return to the quiet empty home.

Just back from the doctor. I spent the day yesterday playing hero and "walking off" some pain in the lower back, which resulted in no sleep and a pain shooting down my leg whenever I stood up. Ack! But these pain meds are great. The doc says carry on with usual stuff like mowing the lawn, dog on the bike, etc., just don't be lifting anything heavy or twisting suddenly for a while.
I got my blood pressure checked. I definitely take after my Dad's side of the family, but my Mom's side is notorious for high blood pressure so I like to get its status on occasion. Fortunately, it was good.

I've stayed in Winnemucca. I had to stay there on a business trip because McDermitt didn't have any motels. A 75 mile drive each way. Oh, and McDermitt wasn't where we were working, only the closest place to eat. Glad I'm not working anymore. I still have a t-shirt that says "London, Paris, Rome, McDermitt."
Some might say that I live in the middle of nowhere, but it doesn't even compare to the area from Winnemucca to McDermitt.

Dick: No, we went to Allende on Halsted.
Bill: Which BBQ place, Smalley's? And Ruby Begonia's is much nicer now after the smoking ban.
Jim: No, I actually don't know what you're thinking. But I know that you'll usually come right out and say whatever I'm thinking, and save me from being the rude one. Thanks.

Spent the morning laying three tab on a shed roof. It's very warm today. Scrubbed the roofing tar of of my hands and giving the guitar on the wall a look. I need a new song to work on.

Spent the morning laying three tab on a shed roof. I need a new song to work on. Well.....3-tabs. With a nail gun? Then there is the rhythm for the new song. *Tack, tack, tack.....tack, tack, tack.....tack, tack, tack....* Something in ¾ time?

Yep ain't nothing between Winnemucca and McDermitt, and if you think there's nothing there you should drive north up 95 less than nothing not a single gas station till you are well into ID. That part of OR you go 50+ miles between houses. BTW McDermitt has at least 1 motel now, but I passed. Got wore out and stopped here in Tonopah, nice older motel for 1/2 what I paid for the junker in Winnemucca.

Ack.....look at the time. Gotta hit the road for the annual Jammin' at the Gazebo at Santanta, KS. Almost spaced it out sitting here reading.
I'll tell about it later.
Enjoy the rest of your weekends, folks.

Nope, I'm too old fashioned. I just use a hammer. It was only a shed, so only ten bundles. They are a stone cold bear to lift up to the roof though.

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Winnemucca. My fellow traveler came down with an infected ear - where an earring goes - and had to go to urgent care.
