We are closing on our refinance this morning, dropping the APR %1.7. I'm pretty happy about that.
All else is well, and I hope the same for you all.

So, Paul, have you setup a website for PaulPac donations yet? You seem to have a lot of grass-roots support or is that grass-smoking support, well support anyways. Do you have a jobs program? My son got laid off yesterday and we need more IT jobs in Richmond, Va. Can you do anything about that?
Well, the elections are over and although it's a little cool out here, I'm going to the golf course. Have a good day.

Bam,
My jobs program is simple. Draw welfare? Work for it! Draw unemployment? Meet your road crew at the corner of 8th and Main at 8 AM (time off provided for real job hunting.) Unemployed day care provider? Guess what you'll be doing so the other folks mentioned before who have kids can work!
Don't show up? Don't get paid!
Other than that, I'm unfortunately a free marketer. About the only thing I'd want to do in the short term is to make illegal some of the investment mechanisms that got us into so much trouble here recently, and to tighten lending regulations that called for simply verifying assets and income before loans go out.
I believe that a wealthier third world, facilitated by free trade, is in the long term best interest for the United States. If that means I have to cut my standard of living and move into a smaller house so my daughters have less of a chance of getting sacrificed by the government in some poorly-conceived but preventable war in some shit hole, send the moving vans my way.

Mornin'..... Another day begins. My upper respiratory crap decided to morph into Bronchitis. Off to Dr. this afternoon, hopefully to secure whatever appropriate medications needed to shake it.

Good morning - clear and cold today. A bright full moon evening not so good for hunters. Tyler had his first 8th grade B Ball game last night. He did well and we lost by 1 at the buzzer. The squeaky shoes and creaky bleachers of a small town gym really brought back some memories.

Paul, can I get a cool title like "Czar of Funk" in your administration?

Great gig for some deserving folks:
Classical music education will get some welcome attention today when Michelle Obama opens the White House for a special concert.
The First Lady will host a Classical Music Student Workshop Concert, which will feature an appearance by superstar violinist Joshua Bell, guitarist Sharon Isbin, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianist Awadagin Pratt. The afternoon concert, which will be held in the East Room, is part of the White House's ongoing Music Series, which was created by the First Lady to celebrate the arts and demonstrate the importance of arts education.
The White House said that the concert will include two young performers: cellist Sujari Britt and marimba player Jason Yoder, who will perform with Weilerstein. On the same day, the White House will hold music workshops for 120 middle and high school students from around the country.
The Obamas have previously hosted concerts of country music and jazz at the White House as part of the Music Series. Last month, the White House hosted a festival of Latin music titled Fiesta Latina.

They could have seen Josh Bell at the L'Enfant metro station.

They could have seen Josh Bell at the L'Enfant metro station. Why, when they could ignore him in the comfort of their home?

I happened to catch half of the country White House concert channel surfing a few months ago. It was pretty nice. Alison Krause and Union Station, Charly Pride, and Brad Paisley. Paisley was so effusive about the Obamas being in the White House I wondered if it might adversely affect his career.

Paul, can I get a cool title like "Czar of Funk" in your administration? The only way a guy from Nebraska could get that position would definitely be to avoid a Senate confirmation hearing. Speaking of funky, we got a request to book 12 dates last night. We now have bookings until October, 2010. That's just wierd.
