I text constantly. I have a where 99% of our communication is via text. They're based in FL, I'm in AZ, it works. < whore >

We don't need no stinking paragraphs anymore. Or sentences.

I turned off texting on my phone--I was having to pay for people's texts mistakenly sent to me, or deal with stuff sent instead of a phone call, which put me into having to call back which added just one more thing to remember to do. I've got enough things to remember to do. Sometimes I don't discover the text till much later, and then it's too late to do anything about it. I also hate to be interrupted in the middle of something for stupid stuff or mundane stuff that can wait, as it derails my train of thought and then I have to recreate what I was doing, hoping I don't make a mistake or forget something because of the interruption.
I leave my cell phone in my purse, answer it if I hear it but otherwise it goes to voice mail.
Pagers are for work, and I hate them. I've hated them for years, as when they go off, I have just had more work added to my day or evening or just lost the weekend to some (ahem) emergency (which is sometimes only an "emergency" because someone is impatient, or has failed to schedule something routine during the preceding week). I only carry mine when I am on call. Maybe that's why I hate texting, it's too much like the dreaded pager.
