I have a 1960s vintage Martin case (for my '69 D-18), but the outside covering is in total tatters. Otherwise case is OK. I'd like to get it re-covered with the original covering material, if possible.
Does anyone know of anyone who does that? Someone suggested Vintage Vibe, but the web site is only about keyboards. Any help is appreciated.

Other than asking Martin if they do that sort of thing, I'd suggest googling "Luggage repair" and see what's in your area. I'll wager a new case would be cheaper but for a '69 D-18 maybe restoration is reasonable.

If it was me I'd leave the case just the way it is. Especially if the case is still solid and functions as it should. The "vintage" look of the case will only add authenticity to the vintage instrument.
In the collectors mind you NEVER restore or refinish unless the item is no longer usable in the condition it is in. You always let the item age gracefully. Leave the "patina" intact. Let it age.

Tattered cases collect dust pretty easily, either buy a second hand guitar case or try to have it upholstered

Bumper stickers.. that's what they're made for.
