sekh, I'd be most appreciative if you could hang on until Saturday, since I'll be arriving in Owen Sound around 3:30 pm on Friday. I'd very much like to hike with everyone and be out in nature. If it has to be Friday, just let me know how to get to your house from the Motel 6 parking lot.

There's no reason to schedule the Bruce outing around us. We hate having to leave on Sunday but that is the "traditional" day for the walking photo shoot.
Psst. Don't tell Fiddlerina but maybe I'll talk to her boss to see if she can be gone on Tuesday as well. Her boss, Rev. McKinstry, officiated at our nuptials and is also my guitar student. We'll see. Fiddlerina would never ask because of her keen sense of responsibility.

We can adapt to whatever is convenient for others.

Well, then, shall we say that Saturday will be the garden jam day, and Sunday will be the walkabout. Dub, you must! get Fiddlerina another day off! Please? This way we can invite some local musicians and Saturday afternoon will be the most likely day that they will be available.

I think we're staying up on the peninsula on Sunday night, but it doesn't take long to get there. (I assumed that everyone would be leaving on Sunday.)

Fiddlerina may object because no one does her job if she's away. The work just piles up. But I think it might be OK.

Success! I have secured Tuesday for Fiddlerina so we will stay through Sunday and depart on Monday. All systems go.

Perfect Dub!
So now we have a good schedule. Dub and Fiddlerina arriving Wedsnesday or Thursday. Marshall, billiam and Kari arriving Thursday ... and Flake and Diane and Tamarack? Howard arriving Friday at 3:30. Pick up at bus stop which is about two blocks from here.
So, Thursday we will hang out and have a dinner here and much music. Friday is Jam day with a welcoming committee for Howard! Continental breakfast at our house and lunch stuff. Dinner out ... thinking of reserving half of a lovely local restaurant - Norma Jeans. Not too expensive and great people, really good food. Saturday we will invite locals to join us in the afternoon to hang around the garden and jam .. hope the weather is good. Sunday we will get up nice and early, have breakfast and head for the Peninsula. I have two walks planned. We will go in a car caravan, back for dinner and jamming. Monday ... sigh .. people leaving. Don - you and Diane are planning on going up the peninsula on Sunday and spending a couple of days in Tobermory. You will need the time, so much to see ... but back for a visit on Tuesday, right?
It's going to be a fine time.
Any amendments, ideas, most welcome!
Only two months and a bit away!

I guessed wrong on when people would be arriving. We'll fly into Toronto on Thursday and that will essentially consume Thursday. On Friday morning, we'll drive to Owen Sound. We have a reservation at Tobermory for Sunday and Monday nights, then back to Owen Sound on Tuesday.

The thing is, it's a very gentle hike, and this vantage point is not far from the head of the trail. I was thinking that we could do this hike, and if people were still up for it we could then head down to the Reservation, which is on the other side of this cliff (you can see it at the top) and see it from the other side. There is a similar land form there too, but it is not a trail, more like a drive. Kari and Joy and I aren't up to the difficult stuff these days.

Where are the mountains in that photo? This must be back east.

Flake. Just nice limestone cliffs. Howard, I am sure you will enjoy the scenery - not a bit like New York!

For iPad users.
I use a nice little app called Maplets. One of the available maps is a nice map of the Bruce Peninsula. You might like it if you love maps as much as I do.

I may check that out, Dub, if it works on iPhone. Don't have a 'pad.

It works fine on iPhone too. I have it on both. There are also smaller detailed maps of certain points of interest on the Bruce Peninsula.
