First I would like to say that it has been a long time since I have visited these forums. It is good to be back! I am rjwat's son for those who might remember. I'm not even sure if he is registered here still. Anyway, I just purchased a Larrivee D50 and I am looking for a pickup/mic kind of deal. I am trying to decide between the K&K Trinity Mini System or the Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend. I am mostly playing solo but I would like something that will also sound great when playing with others as well. Can anyone give me an idea of which pickup sytem would best suit my guitar?

My choice for your situation would be a Highlander IP2 with a K&K Pure Mini on the secondary output. Put this through a Red Eye Twin preamp, killer system. In high volume situations just use the IP2 and add the K&K for warmth in solo venues. I do not recommend the Trinity or any system that has a live mic.
