Good morning. I managed to stay up for the rocket launch last night. Best we've seen here. It went off on schedule for a change and we saw the stages separate and fire, well the light from them anyway, and eventually heard the noise from the blast-off although by then according to the net-cast it was close to Bermuda.
Gig tonight. This is a personal test to see if I really want to keep doing this.
Have a good day.

Good morning! Gonna be hot here today I hear. Muggy too. Oh well...soon it will be icy cold and blowing snow.
Not a fun day ahead. Have to empty the kitchen cabinets into boxes to store in the garage, unload a couple of closets (have no idea where to put all that stuff) and figure out how to live without a kitchen for 3 months in order to be ready for the remodeling project that will begin next week.
Woke up with a cold this morning. Great.
Grump. Grump. Grump. Better get some coffee.

Good Morning, looks like its going to be a nice day today.
Bruce Good luck tonight, have some fun.
Dick Will be thinking about you next week for your surgery.
Jim Weren't you just on vacation? How many vacations does a guy need? must be nice to have all this vacation time, Did you go anywhere?
For all you e-cig people ordered a new clearomizer the other day, it was one of those wick-less that fills from the bottom, Have to say it sucks, the mouth piece just didn't feel right. Anyone else try any new ones? Still like the adjustable battery. Been hearing stories how the e-cigs are bad, But you know I still think they are better then smoking.

Morning all. Good luck with the gig Bruce. Chicken soup for Resolve.
Well the first week of the school year is done. I'm driving a "short" bus this year for the first time. I was always afraid of the special Ed kids, but, I gotta say, I'm really liking it. The kids are better behaved than the regular Ed kids, and it's nice. I've got one girl with muscular distriphy, and she is just so sweet. Can't believe I spent 15 yrs driving big bus.
Any way, im doing some honey dos and then paddle the river today.

Good Morning Good People
Nice day if it don't rain. Some early sprinkles, now it appears to be clearing. Working outside if it stays dry -- one of my exterior refurbishing tasks is repainting the coal chute hatch and the milkbox, which have had lots of layers of paint since 1928. Lots of burning and wire brushing. (in case you were wondering, we have neither milk nor coal delivered, but our kidz found the milkbox handy for storing toys, pine cones, rocks, and other treasures)
Cyndy -- my sympathies on the kitchen remodel. We did a complete gut-rehab in 1996 and update in 2011 -- three weeks turned into three months. Lots of cooking on a camp stove on the back porch.
Have a splendid September Saturday one and all.

Good morning. I got at early for a photo outing, but one look at the socked-in sky changed my mind. It's a good morning for odds and ends around the house. Have a good day, everyone.

Get the microwave moved to a place you can use it. Now take a trip to all the local places that deliver and pick up a menu. Whine to everybody about how difficult it is living without a kitchen, hopefully this will get you regular invites to dinner at their place.

Good day -- Was awakened too early ago by a yippy-yappy dog who was freaked out by another dog being walked and the yips and the yaps went on forevvvvvvvvvvvvver and I started thinking about the air-rifle thread.
Slumber was pretty much impossible after that.
But, looks to be a nice weekend -- good weather forecast, Letson and I are meeting up at the Podio at noon so he can assure me that his senior-citizen Martin parlor is better than my middle-aged Martin parlor. Lonnie and Marty may drop by, as well. Then the plan is to repair to the Blue Door Pub for their famous burgers.
Tomoro, early viewing of the Itee Grand Prix, then a trip to Eau Claire to visit Pops and Seester, who is recovering from hip replacement surgery, albeit at a rehab center that is more like a high-end spa than a medical facility, so she is soaking up the relaxation and the perks.
I'll miss the Vikings game, but the important thing is to get Dad back to his place before the PACKERS play.

Tam, the contractors don't soft pedal the amount of time it's going to take them. It's right in the contract that we should consider a minimum of 50 working days to get "the majority" of the work done. Since the hardwood floors won't be sealed til all the other work is done, there won't be any way the kitchen will be functional til the flooring guy backs his way out the door. I've just resigned myself to 3 months of misery. We're hoping for a long warm fall so we can fire up the grill for dinners at least. We'll have the frig operational in the garage. Coffeepot, microwave and toaster will be on a table in the dining room. Marty I wasn't going to use the slow cooker because we'll have no good way to "clean up" dishes...then Lar told me about a wonderful thing called "Crock Pot liners" so I will leave it out. Yes, I see lots of "take out" in our future and I've already told my family that we will be delighted to come for dinner! LOL Actually I know my daughter will have no problem with the idea of sharing her kitchen if I go over there to prepare meals for "all of us". Win-win for them to have a "cook" with food prepped for when they get home from work. Mike, thanks for the chicken soup. That's pretty cool that you are finding joy in driving the bus for the special needs kiddos. I think "fear" is a pretty normal/typical reaction because we don't know what to expect. I worked with special needs kids all my career and I'm still feeling a little apprehensive about the gig that Lar and I are doing on Monday. We are doing an hour set at a care facility for developmentally delayed adult men age 18 to 80! Our contact person assures me that "the guys" will love us but not to be concerned if several of them scream during our performance!

Resolve, thanks. . I didn't pick up until now you are doing a kitchen remodel. I feel for you, we had our countertops redone with granite a yr or so back. It's hard not to have a kitchen. Hope it goes smoothly. Mike

Up late, looks like a possible non-productive day.
Cyndy, Schwans is your friend. I was able to exist solely on their frozen burritos for three months when we did our kitchen.

I knew there was a reason we never re-do anything in our house other than furnaces, water heaters, electric service, and other infrastructure. I figure, let the next owner do all the cosmetic makeovers they like once we (and our bookcases and record shelves and heavy furniture) are gone.
(I did wash some windows last week, though. And oiled the squeaky hinges on the bedroom door.)
