In morning news the TV newscaster just said youth violence is down 40% over last year (January) in Chicago. The Chicago Police Chief credits police programs with youth. . . , (not the fact that its FREAKING - 11 DEGREES OUTSIDE !)
I laughed out loud.
What an idiot.

Good morning. It's still inappropriately springlike here, but the weather gurus say we may finally see the dry, high-pressure conditions end in a few days. Work awaits. Enjoy your day.

Good Morning Good People
A relatively warm 2 below. After 3 days the city still hasn't plowed our street, but it is minimally passible. Avoiding outdoor work and stuck at a desk.
Have a tranquil Tuesday one and all.

Good morning everyone. Cold here too. It's down in the low 20s and not going to go a whole lot higher today.
I've been looking at my old books, places I've been, and places I want to go. I've about decided to go back to Big Bend National Park in about two months. I can't think of a place that I've been that I enjoyed as much as my trip to Big Bend about two years ago. Anyway, it's a place to daydream about. Too cold to do anything else.

Good morning... this cold weather is making me so tired. It's simply relentless. A supposed respite tomorrow at 24 above... then right back down to two more weeks with single digit days with double digit below zerozipnadazilch nights.

It is already a balmy -14 out there and the sun is shining. Should make it to 0 by this evening so I may do a bit of yard work, fire up the grill and sit on the patio with a frozen beer or two. I also may stay inside and sit on the wood burner while I read a book about summer. Maybe John wants to come over and do some picking in the back yard. I will stay inside where it is warm and watch him through the window. I may even go back to bed and get up in 6 weeks to see if it is all back to normal. Try to enjoy it. Fare thee well, Pete Seeger.

Roy, going back to Big Bend is always a good idea. My parents lived near there and I've visited many times. I was never disappointed.

Mornin'.....
Kinda quiet around here this morning, now that the kids are off to school. Rambeau most definitely is aware of Meeko being gone. Not much on the list to do today. Supper is already made yesterday. Carrie has a music program at school tonight. Think I'll play lots of guitar today after I get cleaned up and dressed.
Speaking of "lists".....and thinking about finally being on it, yet classified at such a low level of need (which I know is a good thing, to a degree) - I received an email yesterday from a Swannanoa friend, Clint Lawrence, who is a pulmonologist in Atlanta, works with lung transplants. He mentioned talking to his heart transplant surgeon, who said that nationwide 5% of heart transplants are status 2. That is the kind of information that presents the greatest challenge to remaining positive about all this. 5%.....5 out of 100.....that's a darned small target to hit.

Not the weather for lurking in alleyways? -22 on my thermometer this morning. A little late to work because Tristan's car wouldn't start so I gave him a ride.

Ole Pete died, rest peaceful Mr Seeger.
Still freaking cold so I'm not going anywhere even though I need some supplies, they will just have to wait.
Getting a long overdue visit from Charlie Parr to check over a Harmony Sovereign I restored for him last Summer. I didn't get photos of that guitar before, but I now have my little photo area set up and will get them.

Present. I coulda' swore I posted here earlier.
Juliet's EEg results are back, and she has an anomaly in the left side of her brain. The Doc said he would not be surprised if she had another seizure. There is no predicting when, however. It could happen next week, or it could happen next year, or so on. So what to do? I reckon when we get the MRI done next week, and then sit down for a wrap-up, we'll talk potential triggers and such, and strategies to avoid it. As I look down her road, what happens when she starts to drive? One hurdle at a time, I reckon.
