Haven't heard much about Soundholer's progress.

No real cigarettes since July but I'm still hooked on nicotine. When I try to cut the dosage I just suck on the thing more. I tried the gum but I think I OD on it and get indigestion. Trying to use cough drops now and they work to a degree although the sugar probably isn't doing my teeth, what few I still have, any good. If I stay busy, like playing golf or lumberjack or something I can go awhile without a drag but just sitting watching TV I go for the e-cig. Also, I still have the mucus buildup problem interfering with my singing. That's how I got to the cough drop idea. Overall, I guess it beats smoking but it's not a cure.

Well at least you're doing your lungs a favor by not inhaling all those nasty smoke byproducts. At least I think you are. I guess the jury's still out on whether e-cigs can cause lung cancer or emphysema?

I'm completely off real cigarettes. Still taking in nicotine, but the e-cig has broken all my automatic cigarette habits. It's enjoyable, I think I use it with much less frequency than I did cigarettes. A drag or two and I put it down. My voice has improved, more strength... definitely a positive thing.

Lonnie, Michael was in the shop today, vaping. I think the same outfit you use.

Been off cigs for the pass 7 months, using the lowest possible nicotine level. Have to say so far so good. Mostly just use it when I'm driving, and once in awhile at work when I'm bored.

I've been on the minimum nicotine strength for the last 4 or 6 weeks. It'll be a year in April since my last cigarette. On the anniversary date I may switch to the zero nicotine level e-liquid. Or try to quit altogether. Or change nothing. I'm not sure yet.

Suggest a setup as a gift for a vaper-to-be. This is the one I use (Apollo Superior eGo CE4 Kit): www.apolloecigs.com/Ego-electronic-cigarette-p/akego.htmNote that there are a few drop down options to choose from. My suggestions: Color: Black (You can get any color. As long as it's black.) Flavor: RY4 (It's a tobacco flavor with a slightly sweet taste.) Strength: Extra High 24 mg (To make sure the new vaper is getting enough nicotine to make the switch. He/she can always select lower strengths on re-orders. Over the last nine months I went from 24 to 18 to 12 to 6 mg.) Make sure you use the discount code WINTER when placing your order for a 15% discount.

I guess the jury's still out on whether e-cigs can cause lung cancer or emphysema? My guess is that they'll find some health risk one of these days. So far there have been a few tests and no problems have been found, but I don't think there have been any long term studies. When compared to cigarettes though, it's a no brainer. In non-scientific terms, I think it's like trying to decide if you want to be shot by a dart gun or an AK47. There may be some health risks from the dart gun. Maybe. But if you're going to have to choose between the two . . . .

It pisses me off when I see how Chicago wants to regulate e-cigarettes. My God ! It's helping people, not hurting !
I think they just want to make sure they get a tax on the things, personally. They bluster about safety and health, but it's really as much about the tax.

Fingerplucked's suggestions are fine but I find Apollo RY4 less than interesting on its own but it is good when mixed with Sahara flavour which is supposed, I think, to be like Turkish tobacco but is nice and savoury and tastes a bit like pistachio nuts to me. Sahara is the default flavour choice on the site for good reason I reckon.

The ban is already underway in Minnesota. No e-cigs indoors in Hopkins, Mankato, Duluth, to name a few. Since the juice comes in all sorts of flavors from tobacco and liquors to berries and root beer, some of our wise city fathers and mothers have decided that e-cigarettes are a gateway to real cigarettes for children. Criminy...
...and it's Republicans and Democrats that are doing it. It just saddens me that our society is becoming so fear driven.

Bruce, you and I disagree on a lot of stuff, but I'm pretty sure we can concur on this... as a nation we seem to be losing all perspective...
