Made a short video of the strat. Nothing earth shaking, I was trying for some range across the neck, and played with the pickup selector in all five positions. Played clean through my Roland microcube, except at the end, where I do some gratuitous shredding with the cube set to kill position, especially for Paul S. Great fun stuff.
I took the guitar into my local tech to do a setup on it. He did some levelling on the frets, (pretty much knew he would have to. I was too worried about grinding them too much,) adjusted the bridge slots, readjusted the nuts lots, adjusted the relief and action. The result turned it from a decent guitar into an excellent playing guitar. I have now had two guitars set up properly, and I can tell you, I will not buy a guitar without taking it to someone in the future, because wow, both the Cargo and the strat came back like new guitars.
Anyhow, if you are interested in what it sounds like, this is a pretty good representation. Very happy with the AT2020, the iRig HD, and the iPad for recording.

Sounds very clean and properly strat-like.

I think so. The puritans cannot believe that mahogany body and neck, and an ebony fingerboard, could possibly be a strat. On acoustics, the wood makes a difference. On electrics, I dunno.

Mahogany for warmth, ebony for brightness. I like how that sounds. Do you think the wood in an electric makes an difference in the tone? I love ebony fingerboards for the feel, but the body, I don't know. I can understand the principle in the through neck, and I guess the density and grain of the wood could affect it. But I'd think it would be a lot different than an acoustic.

The wood does make a difference in body tone, so does the overall mass. Ebony, maple and rosewood fingerboards all give a different tone too.
The parallel wiring for the bridge pickup gives a nice bright but not edgy tone.

The pop switch really gives it a blast, too. Got to get used to it. I'm a mellow old acoustic guitar player, when that thing cuts in, my tendency is to lay back my playing, and not make use of the edge it brings. Hopefully will learn more about all that as time goes on.

Hopefully will learn more about all that as time goes on. That is why I warned you when I did the wiring "When you pull up on that switch all hell will break loose". It is also why I wired it default in parallel, it is still hum canceling and very single coil sounding.

It is. I get a lot of different sounds out of the guitar. Just have to learn how to use them all.
