My wife, daughter, and I had the pleasure of hosting dinner for Frazer and his lovely wife last night. We hadn't seen each other for quite a few years, and it was very good to reconnect. Three hours is just a fraction of the time necessary to really catch up on so much news and many life events, but it was great to sit around the table and chat and enjoy some laughter together. I have no photos, although some grainy iPad photos were made with Frazer's tablet. Perhaps he will post (the best) one in this thread.
We did take a break between courses to admire a couple of the guitars in the other room. Two of them have matured very nicely since Frazer last heard them. He told me he was concerned a couple of years ago when I put the Collings CJ up for sale, since that's one of his favorites. I assured him that after no one responded to my add—not even to make inquiries—and I played it again, after which I decided never to sell unless circumstances were dire, we agreed it was fortuitous that no one had ever made an offer.
Frazer, I hope you enjoy the next couple of days you're here, and please tell J. that it was great to see her, too, and I also hope the jet lag dissolves quickly.

Anxiously awaiting the pictures. If none are forthcoming, I have photoshop and I'm not afraid to use it.

That is the most positive spin on nobody wanting to buy the guitar that I have ever read. Everything works out for the best and glad you kept it. Glad you had a good time. Get Photoshop up and running, John.

Years ago, I had one of my best days ever going to Mandolin Brothers with Frazer, then heading to Howard's place for an evening of picking and general fellowship. Great people, those two are.

There is only one grainy, unflattering photo of Frazer and me. I'll try to post it soon, but thanks to the dim light in the home place the other evening, it looks as though we were underwater.
Shannon—we looked at the photos from that visit, when V and I first moved into this place. I think we had been here a few months, and the gathering was in early 2004.
Who knows where the time goes?

I'd only heard Judy Collins version before. Lovely.
