Hi, all. In these parts, I'll be known as redwood. I used that name for many years in the old forum run by the Acoustic Guitar magazine. I've missed the old forum, and in trolling around here over the last hour, I see some familiar names, and it kinda feels like coming home. Time will tell, yes?
About me? I'm a 50-something Deputy Sheriff in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've played guitar sine I was about 8, if I remember right. Funny thing is, I'm not nearly as good as I think I oughta be after all those years, but playing my guitar is the single most stress relieving activity in my day, so I won't worry about what I can't do.

Welcome, Redwood... Stick around long enough and someone will talk about guitars.

Welcome, Redwood... Stick around long enough and someone will talk about guitars. I think that has already been done for this month.

Where in the BA? I grew up in San Mateo. We have a few other members from the BA...one from the city and another from Marin.

If I remember correctly, didn't you have a redwood topped guitar way back when ? ? ? ?
I remember cause Russell Letson showed me a redwood guitar (Cloutier) around then and I was jonesing for a while. I still have an affection for the material. I've played some nice ones. Played a great sounding MacPhearson up in Sparta a few years ago. But their price (and that funky off center hole) put me off.

Welcome! Marin county for 23 years. Mediocre guitarist and pianist. Good souls for all everyone. <almost>
