My sister and brother-in-law retired to Tucson last December. We're planning on going down there to visit in March. Melva's birthday is the 21st, but we haven't picked travel dates yet.
Anything interesting going on in Arizona around then that we shouldn't miss?

David, I'm not aware of any seasonal events in late March. Many such events are timed to coincide with the tourist season, which will be winding down by then. Good things you can do at that time of year in or from Tucson: Go to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, which is very cool; go to San Xavier del Bac if a beautiful old mission appeals to you; take the tram up Sabino Canyon and walk down; go see Kartchner Caverns, south of Benson. Hobson probably knows the area better than I do and she may have some good ideas.

Can't say that I spend much time in Tucson, but those are all good things to do. I always enjoyed the Renaissance Festival, which is not much of a trip from Tucson: www.royalfaires.com/arizona/

Beware the Ides of March. It wasn't the Ides that got Julius, it was the Senators.

There's the Cactus League, baseball spring training in Phoenix and surrounding area. I think I read that Tucson is out of the picture now. This website shows the teams and training locations. www.springtrainingonline.com/features/master-schedule-cactus.htmI'm not a fan, so somebody else will have to fill you in on details.
