If I had been gigging regularly lately the day to day practice I do for that would do for wood-shedding (that's what the spell check wants). But I kind of put together a quiver of songs for this year that I've been wood-shedding. I've got about 10 in that quiver and I figure I'll take two out for Sat night. Rest are for what ever. I always want to play the best I can for y'all. But I know at IJ all the pressure is self imposed. But I'm sure we as players want to play to the top of our ability. Gigs make me sloppy. I play the kind of gigs where no one knows enough to know if I'm good or not. And I just grab things out of the book to suit the audience Right now I'm going through those 10 every day with out looking at them. I was getting all of them OK when I had the words/chords. Little rougher now with out looking. I've got 4 that I think for Sat and I haven't settled for which 2 out of that four. One that is a heavy favorite I seem to be having the most trouble with. Multiple similar but different chord progressions and my fingers forget which one I'm on.

know the feeling, Doug. I like that the show is only a little part of the weekend. Looking forward to playing with all of you. Meeting Mark was a blast in Mtn. View, and just wetted my appetite for IJ.

My plan for Friday night is to leave my guitar at home. That makes choosing music an easy choice.

I've got a couple of new tunes that will likely be my Saturday nighters. They're fun and pretty cool (for me). They also have some opportunity for noodling accompaniment. So I'll likely be button-holing some holers to see who wants to jam on tunes. But those tunes haven't been played out but once so far, so I'll hit some open mics and give them some air time to get the wrinkles out.
Plus i've got those and a few others to trot out for a mini-set on Friday if that's the way we go with things. And jamming all weekend will be fun.
I always have my shakers and percussion toys. But I'll only add them if asked.

I have just finished my complete arrangement of Beethoven's ninth. Let me tell you, working those last few vocal harmonies into chords was a bit of a monster. Along with the 24 parts. It sounds great. Unfortunately I won't be at iJam, so won't be able to present it for your pleasure.
Perhaps another time.

I'm so proud. Managed a full 47 secs before desperately muting.

I also stopped watching the first time after he sang the first verse more or less correctly. The gag is he doesn't have the rest of the pages of the music so he just sings every German word he can think of

Back from today's trip to the woodshed. Picking 2 for Sat night is not being a problem as they are picking themselves. On Edit: Spell check doesn't like woodshedding but woodshed is fine. ? Maybe because it's making a verb out of a noun? I dont' know.

Returned from the woodshed alive once again. Blew some easy ones and nailed some hard ones.
