Hard to believe August is shot. Time flies whether you are having fun or not. Enjoy the end of the month.

Don't give up on August yet. We still have Sunday. I don't remember if we even had one hazy hot and humid day this month

Back is jacked, but the drugs are good. They gave me hydrocodone or something like that. I will avail myself of that when I cram myself into my seat for my 9 hour flight to Warsaw (Poland...) tomorrow. Today is run around and buy last minute stuff day, as well as the day I go buy two tubes for the amp while trying not to buy a Tele.

Good Morning Good People
Early morning rain, might clear off and get hot and muggy.
Began IdiotJam preparations last night by restringing guitar and banjo. I think it had been two years since I restrung the banjo (old-time music is supposed to sound plunky). Restringing the dulcimer this morning, kind of a pain because of the violin-style peghead. I restring it every 5-10 years whether it needs it or not.
Weather precludes outdoor home repairs, might fit in some workshop time with sawdust and stuff.
Have a sublime Saturday one and all.

The BIL is in town, so we're going to either Arlington Cemetery or the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum.
Warm, humid, but no rain forecast for today.

Morning everyone
Getting back to work this morning on the H1260. I got the bridge glued on before my little trip to the hospital but now I need to get the body cleaned up and buffed out to complete this segment. I'll see if I can post Part 13 tonight or Sunday.
I will be hold Saturday Shop, good day for locals to bring guitars to be prepped for IJ, Lonnie, Bill, RADTKE!

Good morning. I got very little sleep for reasons that elude me, so it'll be a long day. Enjoy yours.

G'mornin' - I actually slept almost 8 hours, I wonder what's wrong. Will spend the day trying to complete the workbench and cleaning the house. not bad for a gray day.

Morning. I'm groggy real today. Went to Ravinia last night and saw Michael McDonald & Toto. No real reason to see them other than some friends wanted to go and it was a nice night of wine, food, and song on the lawn. But probably too much wine.
I'm paying for it this morning.

Good morning. We will take the visitors up to the very cool town of Salida today. Chill in the air and college football has begun. Wonder what comes next :-)
Marshall, would love to see more of your vacation pics!

The ones with my good camera are large an numerous and I have some fun editing to get them presentable. The iphone pictures are fun too and easier to deal with.

My day:
Yogurt, fruit, coffee. Depart for Cheeseland around 10:30 ayem. St. Croix River looks great, some sailboats taking advantage of an unusual summertime wind out of the north. Twenty-eight miles later, ditch the interstate for County Highway N. OMG it has been repaved and is gloriously smooth, quiet, empty, scenic as all get-out.
Lunch in Menomonie at Das Bierhouse, my first visit. Wonderful pork schnitzel strips and homemade slaw, six two-ounce samplers of house-brewed Hefeweissen, Dunkel, ESB, Pilsener, and two lagers -- all tasty and NOT hoppy, thank goodness.
County J and C bring me to Eau Claire, and Dad is not aware I am gonna be visiting, so there's a really heartwarming hug at his nursing-home bachelor pad. I ask if he might want to go for a walk and he eagerly agrees, puts on his wool driver's cap, unlocks the brakes of his walker and away we go, all around the rather large block, takes about 15 mins. He is 95.
Back in his room, he in his La-Z-Boy with golf on the telly, me sitting next to him in a chair, holding his hand. He says some things and asks some questions that make no sense (to me), but at other times is right on the money.
A little before 4, he seems overdue for a nap, so I promise to bring pea soup on my next visit (he slurped up the REAL COFFEE I brought him today), and I bid him adieu.
Call Seester, we agree to meet at Lazy Monk, a brewpub founded and run by a native of the former Czechoslovakia. I pick up some Mideast food on Water Street, Robbie and I share that at the pub as I sip on maybe the best Oktoberfest I have ever had. She gives me a great Eau Claire-themed T-shirt, belated birthday gift.
Drive home into the sunset. Tonight: Laundry and Indycar's final race of the season.
Tomorrow: State Fair with Babs, including an extended stay at Dino's Gyros, listening to Lonnie & Friend.
A fine start to the Labor Day weekend, but as usual, I have to work on Labor Day.
