There are people of my age in the UK who were first introduced to Elmore James by the much loved and lamented DJ, John Peel. A man who had impeccable, broad and passionate musical taste. Twenty-five years of listening to his radio programme, there was never a long period that he didn't play Elmore James records.

John Peel died a few months before we landed in the UK. A shame. Knighted, he should have been sainted. Just my opinion, of course.
