Good morning. ummm afternoon.
Had a great time at the wedding party last night. The band totally rocked. Larry was dragged up ... and it didn't take much dragging. We danced. We never dance. Lots of great people. We're all getting a titch old. I drank a handful of scotch. I slept in. I never sleep in.
Lovely weather. Sun and dark clouds. Warm.
I need a coffee.

The Rail Station is a nice little bar/restaurant near here with about a million TVs. No million TVs in a bar? Just no where you can go you aren't surrounded by TVs.

We're all getting a titch old. What? It's happening up there as well?

Cornflake. I think it's ubiquitous. A friend of mine once said that our failing eyesight is a blessing, as we don't look as old as we are to each other. I think that effect is fading somewhat.

Q Why don't we ever see hippopotamuses hiding in trees?
A Because they're very good at it.

Just got back from a community band concert. It was a bunch of ensembles. Some were very good, some not. It got us out of the house. And we're back in the house just in time. Dark clouds and lots of thunder.

Back from outdoor gig -- glorious weather, quite a bit of fall colors, good food, wine, decent tips. Picked up Big Daddy's ribs on the way home, yummmmmmmmmmm.

Food gets a lot of space on this forum. Rarely do I see anyone mention vegetables, though. It is a protein heavy forum.

Soundholers use a vegetable mute, then?

Also, a stir-fried dish from an old, disintegrating cookbook called B**f Provencal. Marinate sliced beef and minced onions in red wine, cloves, thyme and pepper. When cooking, add a tablespoon of grated orange peel, diced tomatoes, the remaining marinade and a little flour. It's a favorite of my visiting daughter's, and of everyone else here.

The other version of that was
Q Why do elephants paint their toe nails red?
A So that they can hide in cheery trees.
Q But I've never seen elephants in cheery trees.
A See how well it works?

The important vegetable is the potato. And it should be fried.

Larry is forced to eat vegetables daily. If I don't make him eat them Rachel will nag.
It's a guy thing, this problem with vegetables.
My doctor said "If he doesn't eat his vegetables he will die." I hold that over him a lot.
AND the same goes for you lot. Eat up. That's an order.

Didn't see much vegetables in Vinton or Garrison, except the occasional potato.

I have drastically increased my intake of vegetables of all types and cut back on my intake of meat, bread and starch. I am going for balanced with a tilt toward veggies as I attempt to drop a few pounds. I figure less weight on the bum ankle has to help. I have never expetienced such gas in my life and that is saying something.

Banner day. We went down to the Plaza to go to the art fair. The sun was out, and the temperature was perfect. What a great family day.
BUT!! Robby wanted to poke her head into Barnes and Noble, so we did. What did we find there? A book of four previously unpublished-in-book-form stories from Dr. Seuss. "Horton and the Kwuggerbug and More Lost Stories" resides in our bookcase now.
