2004. The most amazing comeback in a World Series, actually any best of seven major pro sports event, sparked by Dave Roberts steal of second. Here is an excellent article on that night and a neat clip of Millar proclaiming 'Don't let us win today' to anyone who would listen. <Click> Chad Finn's recounting of Game 4Kevin Millar's rant. And even more amazing, this is the only major league game Wayne Henderson ever saw. Not enough? Watch 'Fever Pitch', the historical fiction of 2004 from an ultimate RedSox fan's perspective. Fun movie, even if not a RedSox fan.

(The comeback was in the AL Championship Series; the Sox sweept the Cards in 4 straight in the World Series.)
I'd been a Sox fan for 18 years (since age 12) when they won that title. Suddenly, and for the next few years, it seemed like everybody in America was, too. Ending 86 year droughts is really good for merch sales.

Aarrgh!!! Can't believe I mis-spoke. Of course I know it was the ALCS. It was the Evil Empire for goodness sake.
