And according to the SoundScan listing that just crossed my desk, it is the No. 1 selling album nationwide.

I'd like to read Bill's resident hipster music reviewer's take on that.

Writing reviews for country music is like this exchange between Marge and Homer:
Marge: "This is the worst thing you've ever done."
Homer: "You say that so often that it's lost all meaning."

I'd like to read Bill's resident hipster music reviewer's take on that. Way too hip to write about country music.

You guys need to start watching "Nashville" to gain some insight into the tragic lives these artists really live. BTW it's on tonight!

So is the reviewer saying he doesn't really care for this band?

So is the reviewer saying he doesn't really care for this band? I don't think its as black-and-white as that. I read a lot of nuance into the review.

Who are Justin Moore, Outlaws like Me, and Florida-Georgia Line?

Well, I'm guessing the Florida-Georgia Line is an invisible and meaningless demarcation separating two otherwise indistinguishable gangs of--well, I'd better stop there.

I see the CMA awards are coming up again. Didn't they just happen? Kind of like wrestling, the world championships every Saturday night.

I don't know. Modern country still esposes memes such as 'God is great. Beer is good.' I can roll with that.

Country Pop, no worse than any other 'pop' music - but certainly not one whit better.

I listened to as much of this band as I could stomach on YouTube. I think the reviewer was too kind to them.
