Marshall, it sounds like it is a great old warhorse. I bet it sounds great, I would love to have a great old Gibson. When I bought my Collings there was a stunning, stunning stunning Roy Smeck in the shop that they wanted 4k for. No way I had that kind of money at the time, but.... Then there was the sweetest LG-2 at Artichoke. I saw it as Steve Einhorn was showing it to another customer after song circle. . I played it bit while they were talking about it and waited about a hour while the other guy tried to make up his mind about it. He bought it, but if he hadn't, I would have. Maybe someday. Mike Well I only paid $1,475 for Jay back in 02. I didn't know anything about vintage prices. I thought it was high . The other two 50s sloped dreads I had cost $2,200 each. and I sold them for much more. When i look at them now I swoon at the prices. I do regret the 1954 Southern Jumbo I let get away about 5 years ago. They wanted $3k. That was too stiff for me at the time. But considerably less than what I was seeing on the net. And it played and sounded wonderful..
