Good morning. I'll be headed off to Window Rock / Gallup shortly for a meeting this evening, then back tomorrow. Have a great day.

Good morning. Rainy day here but I need to go to the Social Security office anyway because I must have screwed something up in my medicare sign up and they're charging me a lot more than normal.

Morning
While all the Christmas present shopping was done last week I need to go shopping for Christmas today. Christmas Eve dinner will be a roast of beef, potatoes, carrots. I will have homemade Cranberry Ginger Ale and Hot Cocoa for after, laced with Bailey's and Kahlua for the adults. Christmas morning I'm making Orange Custard French Toast, dressed with a chocolate sauce and almonds. This will be served with sausage, coffee and/or orange juice. Before I shop for any of that I need to shag repair parts from the electronics supply and drop off a repair at the Podium. Going to be a busy day of driving around in the rain/snow/sleet.

Barb and I have our elf suits on so we can deliver some of the 10,000,000 cookies she baked. Maybe there will be sampling involved. Enjoy the day.

We braved the crowds and went to the mall in F'burg Saturday, including a Costco run for the whole tenderloin which will become beef Wellington on Thursday. Sunday we did the rest of the grocery run in Culpeper--way less frantic and crowded than F'burg. Today's maybe my next to last day at work forever. Will turn in my badge on NYE.

Morning, all. Our company is closed for the week so I'm home with only a few errands to run. I'll see if I spend more time posting here when I've got nothing to do all day than I do when I'm at work with stuff to do.

Morning all.
It's shaping up to be a great holiday, first one in several years. We're in a house we love, the decorating went off over Thanksgiving as God intended it, the shopping is pretty much done, last Thursday I got a call for a government job interview (LOC, dickt!) that I'd love to do, and last Friday evening my wife was informed she's getting a promotion (she's very good at what she does and they're recognizing it with regularity). And I've finished up the second course in my guitar program. Woo woo!
Nothing left to do now but sit back, drink beer, and enjoy the family together.

Good morning everyone! We are all Christmasy here - just a few things left to do. The family is coming for Christmas Eve here - we do presents and a light dinner. It's always fun. Looks like we have a forum full of good news. Flake gets to go on a business jaunt with a camera at the ready. Faux has a new office, Dick is about to be a free man, doug has a new driveway hopefully, aqua is happy and content (yay), T-bob's sense of humour is delightful, David has the next week off, lj has a good stock of cookies, Kramster is still able to type Hey, and Bruce will be tilting at windmills. Our Rachel has her driver's test tomorrow. We are going downtown to parallel park if she ever gets up. I have to do a little bit of grocery gathering. Had a great night with the neighbours at Swan Jam House. All is pretty right with the world.

Things do sound good here. The girls and I are almost done with a quilt block I mentioned a couple weeks ago, which is great news for us, because we thought we'd never do it. Pictures will come later.

Good morning. Rainy day here but I need to go to the Social Security office anyway because I must have screwed something up in my medicare sign up and they're charging me a lot more than normal. Thanks, that reminded me I needed to call them today to find out if they will automatically adjust my Medicare payment and withholding to reflect the fact I've stopped working and that I've already paid in advance for Jan-March when I get my first check in February. They told me retirement was a "life-changing" event--well, Duh!--and I needed to go online and fill out SSA form 44 and mail it in. After a lifetime in bureaucracy I find it's not over yet.

Just got our tree decorated yesterday and I got my gifts wrapped. The unplanned trip to Montana put us behind schedule. Got a call yesterday to inform us that another friend passed away and services are near the end of the month. This time it's in Chandler (Phoenix), which is a lot easier to get to and has better winter weather than Montana. Also found out that a friend in Idaho died in August. Somebody is trying really hard to crap on our Christmas. But we are trudging ahead. Making fudge for the neighbors and pie crusts today. Have the groceries bought. It will be a simple Christmas dinner built around leftover Thanksgiving turkey breast stashed in the freezer.

Morning. The molder won't power up so spent most of the morning finding an electrician willing to brave the snow storm. A few half days of work on deck then off for 5. Woo Hoo!

Retirement is full of bureaucracy so get used to it. In my case this morning the statement I got had me paying for 2 drug plans but it had already been fixed in the SS system apparently so the woman at the office printed me out a "Correct" version and now I'll just have to wait until January and see what I really get. On the up side, being a rainy day and I got there early I was the first in line. I'm sure we all wish you a long and happy retirement, Dick. If you can beat what you're fighting, bureaucracies will be a piece of cake.

Tree-check Presents-um, well... for the first time in years I am girding up to enter the fray of last minute Christmas shoppers. Is there a guide to the rules of engagement? What sorts of weaponry and body armor are allowed? Do I need to declare combatant status online or anything, or can I just dive right in?
