I saw him in a one man play at the Guthrie years ago, "Vincent." He portrayed Vincent van Gogh's brother, the play was essentially a reading of letters between the siblings. It was marvelous.

Interesting that his ears really were quite large in real life. Looks a bit like Chris Smither in that shot.

I always thought of him as Spock. But then I read once about how he had heard that Nichole Nichols, a regular on the show who was a black actress wasn't getting fair pay compared to the others, and that he had fought and won for her the pay she deserved. Fighting for that in that time period was huge, and something he didn't need to do, and it was done behind the scenes. My Respectometer went way up after reading that, and there's no doubt he'll rest in peace. He was a good man.
