That is great!
BTW, humans have not been getting progressively smarter. Maybe they've gathered more knowledge by now, but people have always been remarkably clever.
Wait, what are bile salts? I wanna put it in my eye??

Okay, MRSA is that diabolical antibiotic-resistant staph infection that is rampaging over hill and dale these days. Not to mention hospitals. Think the med folks are humble enough to break out Bald's Salve?

I followed a few links and it does look like hopeful news. Who knows what else might be found in those old books that's worth investigating. The whole pre scientific method aspect of it all makes it really interesting.

The whole pre scientific method aspect of it all makes it really interesting. It does indeed, and this is just one instance of what worked thousands of years ago. For example, bleeding one with leaches will indeed lower high blood pressure. But the folks at the time didn't know what high blood pressure was, and I'm sure they couldn't explain their mrsa concoction. Or weren't familiar with the modern idea of avoiding mrsa, like washing hands. I'd rather stick with modern medicine as opposed to 1,000 years ago stuff, but this discovery is still pretty amazing, and I do hope scientists take a look at it.
