Found all three parts of Atlas Shrugged on the net. 6ish hours. I got through the first two so far, and they seem well done but all three have different actors for the rolls. Takes about 15 min to get used to a different actor for a main character. 2011, 2012, 2014 you would think they could find the same actors. Not A list actors but high B list actors.

Liked part 1, didn't care for part 2, haven't seen part 3 yet. They got roundly roasted by the critics for changing actors for part 2, not sure I'll bother with part 3.

If they could have mixed and matched the actors from both 1 and 2 it would have been better.

I think they are following the book fairly well but it's been more than 10 yrs since I read it.

I first read the book over 40 years ago. The movie series was somewhat true to the theme in the book but I'm thinking there isn't enough time, even in three feature films to capture it thoroughly. The "different actors/actresses" aspect gave it a bit of sitcom/soap opera quality. The movies, like the book, focus a bit too much on the 'self' characteristic with little or no regard to any responsibility to others. I'm about as far from socialist as you can get but I believe in a responsibility to help others. I just don't like the government dictating who gets the help and how much.

I think Atlas Scrugged would be a good name for a bluegrass band.

I thought Atlas Scruggs was Earl's Greek cousin.

You know that song that Etta James made so popular?
You mean, "At Last"
Yeah, that's the one. I'd like to hear that played on a banjo.
Oh, you'd like to hear At Last scrugged?

Part 3 was the worst of the 3 but necessary for the finish. Good actors spread through all 3 but would have been better if they had filmed it in on run with the same actors.

Rand's stuff is just too big in scope for a proper movie treatment.

Rand's stuff is just too big in scope for a proper movie treatment. True but not a bad job and it took 3 full movies almost 6hrs.
