So a major manufacturer of construction equipment is going to build their own construction equipment. Not quite. A major manufacturer of construction equipment is going to build on-highway trucks. Kind of like Fender deciding to build pianos.

So, a metamorphosis then? If that's what they're calling a major pain in the ass these days.

That's cool, Peter. How much longer will you continue to commute to Peoria? It's occurred to me that Peoria is only 2-1/2 hours from us and we should come over if you have a free evening and make your acquaintance over dinner or something. I've long wished for a chance to meet you in person.

I've long wished for a chance to meet you in person. I'm a consultant that's a part of the small engineering team that's putting this together. Right now I'm coming out roughly 2 weeks a month and we're trying to get it down to 1 week a month. I figure this assignment should be good for 2 or 3 more years. When I come to town I'm in early in the morning on Monday and scoot back to Virginia Friday afternoon. I'd be happy to catch up for an evening with anybody that wanted to come to town during the week. But then again, it is Peoria.......

Are they going to make a hybrid? It's been done. Worked on that back with that other company on the east coast that starts with M and ends with k and cannot be mentioned here in Illinois.

I highly encourage you to sort out the schedule such that you will be able to attend Idiot Jam. That thought has occured to me but we're already booked at one of our favorite wineries that weekend. So IJ loses out to drunk, stupid, potentially naked, and not worrying about bail money.

Those old Macks with the bulldog on the hood were the coolest truck on the road.
I didn't know they were still a player. Never see any new ones around here.

We used to camp a little north of Peoria just about every weekend. That general area is about as scenic as Illinois gets.
