I've been waiting a long time for this. Finally a few good videos of Daisy Mayhem.

The title made me think your flower garden was a wild success this year.

The first time I heard them was by chance (same as with Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer). I was going to see Harmonious Wail and they were a surprise opening act. Don't even remember the year.

I've slipped across the river a couple of times to hear 'em. Always bedazzled.

Great stuff. What a voice. Guitar player is kind of dull. Love the drums, too.

In a small acoustic group, everything counts the most. Allison Kraus never suffered by having Jerry Douglas there, or any of the other great players she has had with her.

Tyminski and Block are great, they shine without stepping on toes.

Very nice stuff. Great voice and arrangement. I like the tone and tempo of the guitar work, but sharing the spotlight as it did, it was missing something for me. I bet the same player could play a different lead that would knock my sox off.

They're most definitely a band of team players. The single thing that stands out at a concert is how well they play together -- how tight their harmonies are, and how the instruments serve the music. They're not a band of individual hot pickers taking turns wowing the audience. They have a carefully selected repertoire of arrangements that they perform as a group.

Truly cool. And I'll up the ante up on the drum set another kudo. Word geek here -- "Kudos" is not plural, it is a Greek-derived word meaning "praise" -- so there is no "kudo" as a singular form. I'm not scolding, mind you, just thought I would pass on an interesting word fact, one that I ran across a mere 10 years ago or so. So, for instance, it would be correct to say "kudos IS deserved ... " Just substitute "praise" whenever you see the word, as it is inherently singular.

I like bands where everyone is a hot player, that can step out when the opportunity is there, and provide great backing and togetherness the rest of the time. That's what I see in Union Station. Don't get me wrong, I like these guys just fine, but I like it to be more. That is a totally nondescript guitar solo. If he's going to take a solo, it should either be a elaboration on the melody, or something interesting all on its own. It's neither, it's just some half decent bluesy noodling.
