The good people of Owen Sound are indeed fortunate to have such gentleman, gifted in words and music, in their midst.

Whilst cogitating aimlessly And treating with alacrity The sudden escalation of Canuckistani Lars, I felt a simple "wow" or "yay," Though monosylabblicly gay, Would never properly convey The magic of the day, and his ascendance to the stars.
The poets whom I've known of old, Whilst to a person bright and bold, Would line their moons and Junes and spoons up in a tidy row, They traveled roads less traveled, Unraveled what was raveled, But when the case was gavelled I was somewhat less than dazzled by their paltry metric flow
Recalling one vast laureate, A rotund soul, the more he et The more he spewed profundity upon our fragile ears, A simple treatise morphed too long, Eclipsing even Dylan song, Although I may not deem him wrong I simply wish to fill the bong and drown him out with beers.
But lo, what light... 'tis Jensen, Larry, Owen Sound will be made merry, Rhyming this and rhyming that upon each frabjous day, And so, with humble mind I seek For words not so restrained and meek To proudly, oh, and loudly speak To this grand moment (ain't no treacle)... here 'tis... Wow! and Yay!!

WAY COOL!
And I hope there's some sort of sizable honorarium involved. Mazel tov, Lars. We cheer for you from Kings County.

Yup, they don't suck too much. *cackle*
Honestly, I'm so happy that Lars and Rob received this honour. Lots of work ahead.
*pawsonhips*! BRUCE. I suggested to Lars that he save the honorarium to buy a new guitar when the envelope is fat enough.
I'm proud as punch, though I had nothing to do with it.
Those guys rock, as Swan Jammers would know.

Lonnie, if I wore a hat, I would toss it in the air for your poem. It's simply brilliant.

Well...I'm kind of lost for words which is not a good sign for a Poet Laureate. Part of my duties of course is to inspire other poets to write poetry...Lonnie Knight (check). May I post the poem here Lonnie? www.facebook.com/jensenrolfe I invite you all to go and like this page as well. That will show we have an international, inspirational and an Americanational (made up word: see Lonnie Knight)audience And then there's Sekhmet's beautiful poem "Take the money and buy a new guitar Lars" (check) Thanks Dub for posting this event from my hometown.

Congratulations, Lars. What an honour, and what fun.
And Lonnie gets extra marks for using "frabjous". Great poem.

As with so many 'Holers (you know who you are), it's a privilege just to know and occasionally hang with the likes of Larry and Rob.
