Welcome Pat. Everyone said the things I might have said. We've been together, a lot of us anyway, since 1999. Hard to believe given what an odd bunch we are. I hope you enjoy yourself. Forget talking about music. We hardly ever get around to it. We get along remarkably well for people from such different backgrounds and of such different politics. Never mind what Omaha says; he's usually wrong. And watch out for doug because, well, just watch out. Let me see. Bill started it. He will deny it but he did.
We've weathered two wars, a number of really argument inducing elections. We've had out and out brawls and then a lot of hug sessions and semi-apologies. And real apologies. We have had adventures in philanthropy. Half the guitarists in Tanzania and Kenya love us. Well, they love Evan to be sure.
Whatever you do, don't talk to J about music. He knows more than you do. He knows more than any of us do. He's expecting a baby. We met him when he was a teenager. He's still around, god knows why, hanging with the old folks. We love him to bits. Yes you do billiam. Get over it.
We sent a guitar to Croatia once - it hitch-hiked.
We cried over 9/11.
We meet face to face and it is the most amazing thing, to see a person you have talked with for years suddenly there in front of you, just as you imagined they would be.
Welcome to the Soundhole.

Welcome, Pat. I wasn't aware that Mark had friends.
I'm from Iowa as well, somewhere between Garrison and Vinton, and I'd love to meet a fellow Iowan at a jam we're having up here next week. The Internet is crawling tonight, but I'd sure love to hear what Mark posted for you hopefully tomorrow. Where in Iowa are you?

Don't listen to Kate. I was hesitant to call her "full Canadian", lest my comment be taken in the wrong light. In other words, I was trying to be polite. A full Canadian would understand someone trying to be polite. Ergo: "sort of Canadian".

A full Canadian would also eat poutine. I've never understood why poutine isn't overwhelmingly popular in Wisconsin. Lately I've seen it in a few scattered places, but it just seems so blatantly Wisconsinish to me.

Ignore my comments on poutine in the other thread. Nothing to do with this thread. But a lot to do with being full.
