I would do that, if only for the food. I'm used to the east coast blue crabs, and they are wonderful, but you have to pick those things to pieces. I had Dungeness once, and oh my... and not the effort of blues.

We always clean and take the meat out of the shell before serving. Then it's easy to make crab cakes or Louies or whatever.
