The only way Hillary could lose at this point is if the State Department comes out with a scathing report from its email investigation - which it announced it would resume now that the FBI has finished it's probe. And even then, by that time the country will have had such a bellyful of Trump that it won't cost her the election. Remember - we still have the debates to look forward to - unless Trump decides to skip them, which would be almost as bad for him as if he shows up. I think Hillary will use him like a wet mop. I read a tantalizing suggestion today. The rumor is that Trump is refusing to participate in the debates unless both Libertarian and Green party candidates are invited. That would be interesting. That would be interesting. That would hurt both him and Clinton. I guess he thinks it would hurt her more than him. I don't think Trump would lose any voters to the Green and I think Clinton would lose voters to both Green and Libertarian parties. Even if it doesn't happen it's great political showmanship. Clinton doesn't agree she's against the people see all the choices, yada yada. Debate organizers hold to their % thing and they are conspiring against Trump, yada yada. Maybe a win win for Trump. He gets it and it maybe cost Clinton 4 pts more than Trump. He doesn't get it and gets to paint some more conspiracy people which will float with Greens, Libertarians, and some Sanders people. Don't see a down side for him if he spouts it in his bombastic way.

I was beginning to wonder how long it would take for someone to ask that. Thanks, Tom. Doug's been saying for months that all of the pundits have been consistently wrong about Trump. He's right. I think it's time we all realized that Trump has made this a whole new ballgame. No one understands the rules but Trump. It could be that he has no rules. No other candidate has ever acted as outrageously as Trump. By all accounts he's getting away with it. Against all that the politicos hold holy, Trump is continuing to at least stay close in most of the polls. He might get away with it all the way to the White House.

Is it only me, or is anyone else getting a little sick of playing Calvinball?

Ohhh. That Calvinball. I thought you meant the other one. The most applicable quote from this strip is,' This game lends itself to certain abuses.' As John Calvin would say, 'Amen.'

I can't believe I put an apostrophe in there. Forgive me Fr. Hammond, I knew not what I done. Write "It's a sin that rears its head often" 100 times, go forth and sin no more. I will also say a dozen Hail Mary's.

I have been saying that Trump will never debate Hilary Clinton even if the Greens, the libertarians and all of the signers of the Declaration show up. He's crazy but he's not that crazy.
Hilary will be Mde. President come next January, and it has never been in doubt.
The latest madman fact that I just learned is that when Trump was consulting with a hired expert of foreign affairs he asked why he couldn't just use a nuke seeing as "we have them" three times in one hour. Now, I find that hard to believe, that he would be that stupid. But maybe I'm wrong. He seems willfully ignorant of the basic facts.
Does anyone wonder why he repeats everything he just said? Do you think he doesn't know that he does that? Do you think he doesn't know that he does that?

I drove 3000 miles in July. Saw very few yard signs in cities for either Clinton or Trump but in rural areas I didn't see a single Clinton sign but thousands of Trump signs. Looks like even rural Iowa is going Trump. I think we are going to have to get used to President "The Donald" and be glad that with no party in congress he won't be able to get anything done.

That should boost his numbers again. I doubt that it will go to trial in the next few months, but he's got to be worried that his brand is going to take a major hit, as well as his pocketbook.

This is getting ciuriouser and curiouser ...
WASHINGTON — Donald Trump's running mate Mike Pence endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan in his primary fight Wednesday, in Pence's latest break in position from the billionaire businessman.
Pence said in a phone interview with Fox News Channel that Trump supported his decision to back Ryan as they work to unite the Republican Party.
Trump, Pence said, "strongly encouraged me to endorse Paul Ryan in next Tuesday's primary and I'm pleased to do it."
Trump openly taunted the leaders of his own party Tuesday by refusing to endorse Ryan and former Republican presidential nominee John McCain of Arizona in their GOP primaries.
Trump said he's "just not quite there yet" when it comes to backing Ryan, who has at times been critical of Trump's most controversial comments. Ryan's underdog primary challenger Paul Nehlen said Tuesday that Ryan has betrayed Trump in "an act of sabotage against our party."
So far, McCain, Ryan and other Republicans who've reluctantly declared that they plan to back Trump for president appear to be sticking with him.
Trump's slap at two of the nation's most prominent Republicans escalated GOP turmoil barely a week after a convention intended to promote party unity.
This is not the first time Pence has broken protocol and expressed an opinion different from that of his running mate. Last week, he issued a statement condemning Russia for any alleged tampering in the U.S. presidential race, after Trump said in a press conference that Russia should locate Democrat Hillary Clinton's missing emails — a comment Trump later said was meant to be sarcastic.
Pence also defended a military mom's right to criticize Trump's controversial comments about the Muslim parents of a slain U.S. Army veteran. Trump later lashed out at the media's coverage of the controversy.

Just one more brick in the "they're out to get him" wall. If "they" are out to get him then he must be the best pick. *they = who ever that individual thinks of as "they" but mostly "they" is the status quo.
