I have no idea what the relevance is for education, which is what this meeting was about. They told us how to do it, but never said why.

In a moment of weakness I signed up for Twitter. This was a year or three ago. I have never tweeted anything. I get constant emails from Twitter telling me how cool they are, and who I should be following, but I just don't get it. I'd kill my account if I could figure out how to do it.

I'm confused. What has happened to the old forum configuration? I'm lost.

I Googled "Twitter and Education" and there are some reasonable seeming articles.

I have no idea what the relevance is for education, which is what this meeting was about. They told us how to do it, but never said why. I suppose it's just to have an idea of what kids are doing every day and every way in their lives. Digital communication is their mother's milk.

Nope. It's supposed to let us allow our colleagues to be aware of the new discoveries and innovations we are constantly running ito every day.

Nope. It's supposed to let us allow our colleagues to be aware of the new discoveries and innovations we are constantly running ito every day. It's also a way for you to ignore spelling and just blame the 140 character limit you'll be running ito every day.

I Googled "Twitter and Education" and there are some reasonable seeming articles. I would tend to agree with that, but there are also studies out there talking about technology overkill in the classroom. I'm tending to start to lean that direction.

It is the old "know what the enemy is doing and how they are doing it" philosophy.

Twitter and Facebook are the biggest, busiest back fences/barbershops/beauty parlors/corner saloons/small-town diners ever, with all the benefits and problems of unregulated gossip-spaces writ large and supercharged by high-speed transmission, digital reproduction and/or faking of "data," and with increased vulnerability to subversion by propagandists and crazies.
It's us folks scaled up. Scary, ain't it.

You know you have made it when not your music, but your philosophic quotes have made it to cable TV's Music Choice channel.
