Good morning.
Party for the other folks on the street, or whoever shows up anyway. It's hot and muggy but I got the porch cleaned up, enough and the bathrooms cleaned up, enough. Mary's still sleeping so I'm getting to do the work. Got to make a trash run so we're starting with empty trash bins, get a couple of bags of ice for the cooler and put some beer in it in case they didn't see the BYOB part. I already feel like a wet dish rag. Fun, fun, fun.
Happy Saturday.

Good looking days here today and tomoro, which is a good thing, as I have a looooooooooooong list of tasks, some of them weather-dependent. Ingesting yogurt here before I set out on errands. More later on this exciting agenda.

Once again, I am up. Chicago Air Show starts today so all the jets and planes, based at the Gary airport, will be flying over this weekend. There were quite a few practicing the last couple of days. The Gary airport is a great , but underused, airport. Stay true to your school.

My wife is s little better. I asked her to rate my caregiving on Yelp. I got docked on crumbs on the kitchen counters and folding clothes. Excellent rating for breakfast and grocery shopping.

Up and at em you slugs. It's Saturday, the coffee is dripping, the terrorist Dachschunds are fed, and in a while I'll head off to the Beaverton Farmers market on the Vespa for fresh veggies and maybe a breakfast tamale. Later dudes.

Up. I'm by myself this morning, as Kathy plus two are still out in Colorado, and Robin spent the night at a friend's house. I don't teach again until Wednesday, so there is no pressure to prep this weekend. That's probably why I am still in bed. In strange news, apparently the twin megalopolises of St Joe, Missouri and Atchison, Kansas, have been besieged by world travelers in town to watch the eclipse. I was talking with a local shop owner yesterday, and she said one of her customers described the upcoming eclipse as life changing. Um, no. Winning the lottery this weekend would be life changing. And finally, for all you people named Lee, you better start thinking about a name change. They've come for your horse... www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-usc-traveler-20170818-story.html

Good Morning Good People
Another fine summer day at the end of a week beset by first-world problems. This has truly been a fine summer on the Third Coast, not too hot or humid. I've been spending lots of time outdoors, unfortunately most of it has been at a post-industrial wasteland.
Hanging out with the dog this morning, muddling about the house organizing some stuff and making a few IdiotJam preparations. Office time this afternoon dealing with said post-industrial wasteland.
Have a peaceful Saturday one and all.

Congratulations. Sounds like you're doing well. I don't remember what went wrong a couple of days ago but Mary said, "It's not your fault". I almost had a heart attack. That's never been an excuse before.

Morning
81F/27C Mostly sunny and just a bit warmer, should be a nice day.
I finished drilling all 434 holes in the string winder blanks yesterday, and I made a mistake in every one, but it is correctable, in fact it is the only hole that is correctable. Hole for the handle is off by 1/16" so I will hand chisel the correction on every one. So far I've only rejected 4 blanks, I'm getting better at doing this and if I do yet another batch I may invest in a better milling/slide vice and a 1/16" graduated set of Forsner bits. The new mandolin/electric/12 string winder design is looking like it should do the trick. I should be able to test one in a few days.
22 Days to IJ. LJ is still trying to decide which guitars in his vast collection to bring.

yup, it's morning, sun is up, clouds broken, dogs fed, no breeze, might get into the 70s by late afternoon, lots of stuff to avoid doing, may get some of it done, after chores of course.
better days y'all

The is my 50th HS reunion weekend. Had a terrific time at teh Meet-and-Greet last night. I'm bringing the sound system for tonight's festivities. And printed the picture name tags. And a nice 24x36 poster of deceased photos: "No Longer With Us"
It will be fun.

I'll be in major caregiver mode come Wednesday when Barb goes for the hip replacement. Her sister Jo will stay at home here since we'll have the help of our hired CNA plus Joshua and Carrie. Don't think I'll ask Barb to rate my caregiving.....if I do something wrong, I'll get yelped at enough. Cleaned up patio and grill this morning, ready for brats and burgers. Will fire up the robotic pool vacuum again. Glad I don't need to mow until Monday.
