I'm very skeptical of videos such as the one posted, especially from CNN with their history of manufacturing reports
My point/challenge was to make a point about personal experience in buying firearms. Until you've purchased a firearm,
you're not likely to see or understand how strict gun laws really are. That's not to say there may be some rogue dealer
selling illegally but they are a minority at best and they're taking a huge risk of jail time and losing their license.
That in itself should illustrate the weakness of more gun laws. If current gun laws were enforce the way they should be,
it would be a good start at cutting down gun violence.
There are also a lot of myths about gun control that are being pushed by the anti-gun lobbyists. Like owning a gun
increases your chances of being shot by an intruder, with your own gun. Really? An intruder is going to enter my
home and shoot me, with my own gun, before I can shoot him/ her? And this intruder knows where I keep my firearms?
Then there's the "gun show loophole" myth that allows gun sales without background checks. It doesn't exist.
The only loophole is one that allows licensed out of state dealers to sell to in state dealers to sell to residents.
My primary point is to check for yourself. Go to a gun show or a licensed dealer and see if you can make a purchase
without a background check. Don't take my word on it.
In all this discussion, I don't recall anyone bringing up the issue of "ghost guns." Anyone familiar with those.
I haven't heard anyone from the "gun control" crowd talking about stopping them. In short, they are manufactured
outside the U.S. and smuggled into the U.S. at a premium price and sold largely to criminals such as drug dealers,
gangs, and organized crime syndicates, who can more easily afford them. Illegal? Absolutely! Do you think they're
going to turn their guns in to law enforcement. Does anyone honestly believe more gun laws would stop them?
