Tempted to go check out that Thai place with Bill but I've been eating out too much lately. What if I'm buyin? Rice and Larpenteur: www.thaistreetmarket.com/menu/That menu looks pretty good, and quite similar to the menu at the Thai restaurant in Dodge City that Doug and I decided to pass on when we had dinner last year. He said he avoided the spicy stuff when he'd be stuck sitting in the car driving. Understandable. Besides, although the food there is pretty good, it was also absofrigginlutely BLAZING HOT!!!!! At least on the menu you posted there was no disclaimer re: heat levels or phone numbers for the Fire Marshall. Been a different kind of weekend here. Woke yesterday and I could not put much weight on my right foot. Could hardly get around to do anything. Took a couple of Tylenol and that took lots of pressure off. But this morning, whatever the condition is came back with a vengeance. Not only could I not put any weight at all on it, I couldn't even touch it, even lightly. I'm thinking gout? Which I've never had. Saw my PCP guy and we did labs and x-rays to be all the way sure I hadn't injured it somehow. Both were normal. Determined then to be an acute attack of good ol' arthritis. Tylenol or Aleve (neither are liked by my cardiologists). I took two of my industrial strength Naproxen Sodium (BIG Aleve). Now I wait. Should be fine.

When I saw "Soundhole Ribs", the first thing that came to mind were Factorychef's Korean ribs from the afterparty. With the black bean sauce.

You take care of yourself, Don!!
Been a busy day. Daughter, hubs and kiddos stopped over for a visit. We toured the renovation site of our future home which was sufficiently dusty and scaffolded to look like a playground to the 2 year old so we took a quick tour and got outta there. He managed to collect as much dust as the fibers of his clothing would hold! 😁
When the crew departed after lunch I constructed a big pot of chili to host 4 neighborhood couples for dinner. Still have a bit of prep to do. This is a new recipe. It called for cocoa powder!! Anyone ever heard of adding that to chili? I will let you know how it tastes!!
Significant Other has to run 40 minutes “downhill” as part of his training for the Boston Marathon in April. That means he puts boards under the back of the treadmill. Did I mention the treadmill is upstairs? Right above me. He just started. Ughhhh! 😬 The pounding and vibration should produce the level of headache I need to justify an early start on the wine! 🍷
Have a wonderful Saturday night! ❤️

Cocoa powder makes sense to me. Chocolate is a deal in Mexican food. It doesn’t turn the flavor like you think it would.

The Aztec people drank a savory brew made from cocoa and chilies.
