We did the new fridge buy a couple of years ago. The new one is more cubic feet and sticks out further. Causes no problem but took time to get used to visually.
We had measured the space before buying. The only hitch was that we had not measured where the quarter round was so we had to strip that out before we could slide it back.

I find that print keeps getting smaller.

Well, a million phone calls with the furniture/appliance store later, Kim has the refrigerator ordered. The only issue is that the one our size has that outside water/ice thing on it, which we hear can have some issues, and that you have to buy a fairly expensive filter every few months. Anyway, the good thing is that we were able to give the place business. Those of you who have visited Vinton might remember me mentioning a big fire downtown this winter that burned down several businesses, this store being one of them. It's great that the are rebuilding in the same location (clck to view):

The filters last for 6–9 months. You can probably get a year if Vinton has clean water to begin with. Filters cost $25-50 depending on which one you need.

And if you don't think the water/ice feature is worth it, then don't use it. Then it will never need fixing and you will never have to buy a filter.

and that you have to buy a fairly expensive filter every few months. Not if you never put a stinkin filter on it. I never did. Heck, it's the same water that comes out of the tap. I drink that without a fancy filter, too.

My fridge has the same filter in it as the day we moved into the house, 4 years ago. The little red light telling me to change the filter turned on about 3 months later.
Guests compliment me on the great taste of our water.

Of course the reason they ask you to change the filter is that after a few months it begins to harbor this flesh eating bacteria. By the time you notice, you are half-way to becoming a puddle on the floor.

Does that work for the dogs, too?

Don't know about dogs, but I use the stuff that comes out of mine for opening up plugged drains. Clears them out right good and proper.

I bought a new refrigerator for the wife a while back.
I still remember the glow on her face when she opened it.

Get the filters from Amazon. Much cheaper.

I buy a four pack of filters from Amazon and they are reasonable. You can also just turn off the damn warning light. If you tell the fridge you changed the filter it believes you, at least for a while. I like the cold, filtered water.
