It's Monday, start of a new week, and I'm ready to go. Coffee is brewing and I just finished my morning stretches (which consist of getting my socks on... but, a stretch is a stretch). Come coffee!

The dog woke me up. Now she is asleep again, but I'm just getting to coffee.

Good morning.
Storms rolled through early this morning, woke me up about 5 but they're gone now. I don't see any damage but there are probably sticks to pick up sometime. Dental cleaning at 9:30 this morning, not my favorite hobby but necessary. I'll try not to be too much of a grumpy old man and hope she's kind to me.
MRI at 8am tomorrow and Mary has consented to get up early and go with me in case I can't drive back home. I think that kindness is because I washed her car between breaks to check on the Masters yesterday.
Have a good Monday.

Well, that was a nice enough weekend, it didn't rain or snow or hail or blow. I got some domestic chores done, did some cooking and eating and drinking, got a haircut, watched the Masters and the Indycar race, treated myself to Sunday breakfast at Holman's Table, got the car washed.
The latter was kinda dumb, I just realized, as tomoro I'm dropping off Ol' Blunderbuss at a body shop to get a couple of deep nasty door dings repaired. And they will undoubtedly wash the car before returning it to me. The dents are such a pisser -- one morning I parked in my downtown garage and that afternoon returned to find these down-to-bare-metal scars. I don't know how or why anyone would open their door so hard to cause that damage, and my car was right between the painted lines as it should be.
With my insurance deductible and car rental I am out $600. Which buys a lot of pork steak.

Good morning. Weather's good, taxes done. Last night I made the Cook's Illustrated version of sloppy joes and they were very good. Have a good day.

The weather was awful yesterday. Not MN awful, but awful none the less. It looks gorgeous right now. 12 hours can make a real difference. Lots to do today. Time to get started.

Unbeknownst to me, the cat yakked all over the place. Then I walked through it and tracked it around. So I'm off to a great start.

I should point out that April being a “hollow” month (fewer than 31 days) the ides of April fell on Saturday, the 13th. It was also notable, for Walt Kelly fans, that Friday the thirteenth fell on a Saturday this month.

Good news/bad news kinda day. Got a call from the dermatologist's office to tell me that the 3 biopsies done on 4/9 were all benign. Bad news is that Mr. H is having a real problem with his left eye vision. He has been treated for wet macular degeneration for about 5 years in both eyes. He has managed to squeeze in an appointment when the doctor is here in two days.
Damn, medical stuff takes up a lot of time as we get older. I was thinking about that this morning while I wrapped my sore knee in an Ace bandage and waited for Mr. H to take all of his drugs and last night while I was dressing the 3 biopsy sites.

Great seeing Doc Rogers over the weekend at the Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg. Nice to be living in the center of the guitar universe if for only a couple days of the year.
