I bet I can find a psychiatrist that'll say you're crazy. You say that as if it's something that would be hard to do.

I’m fascinated by the difference between Psychology, and Psychiatry. The first is often not even considered science, but rather one of the liberal arts disciplines. But both purport to treat the same issues. And both have a lot of voodoo in them.
Also, I don’t know that any medical field is as full of over the top prescribing and drugging as psychiatry. I have shared the tale of my wife’s brother before; serious brain damage from birth, drugged into an immovable object in the institutions he was in. And while much of that is gone, it’s now happening to more and more seniors; my mother was in hospital with her broken hip, already suffering from dementia, and she was in a haze for much of it, which, as far as I can tell, was mostly to keep her quiet, though ostensibl it was to treat her “depression.” I’m not sure how you could tell she was depressed.
All that being said, a year and a half on an SSRI pulled me out of a very dark hole. It was very non instrusive, and may have saved my life. But I really do wonder at the thought that every mood swing is the result of a ‘chemical imbalance’, and I wonder how folks sleep, knowing that the massive marketing jobs they do with these things, they are being pushed in a lot of places where they are probably not needed.

Anybody who wants to see a psychiatrist should have their head examined.

A tug-of-war spoken of in the past tense is a drug war.

Unless the contestants are evenly matched. Then it's a draw war.

This is a tangent I know but Joe Rogan had a former drug agent on his podcast who worked the Mexican side of the border. His delivery of anecdotes and answers to Joe's questions about the Cartels and drug trade were always fairly low key to matter-of-fact deadpan but Joe was constantly interjecting: "HOLY F$$K"!!!!

Yet another tangent: Saturday we cleaned the house that used to belong to the infamous drug smuggler/CIA operative Barry Seal. It's now occupied by a delightful home school family with 11 kids. Barry was a trip. The latest movie to take on his story was "American Made". Tom Cruise portrayed Barry.

Apparently mostly made up, but worth it for the entertainment value. Tom Cruise may be a weird guy, but when he’s on, he’s excellent.

If it’s the recent episode with Ed Calderon, that guy is a *serious* trip. Very unusual guy in real life.

I've been too busy to check him out.

My surveying company- before I became the owner- surveyed a large rural tract of land for Barry Seal. I forget if it was in South Mississippi or somewhere nearby in Louisiana like Washington Parish. His instructions for marking the corners was to pour lime in a 20' diameter circle around the property corners. I will leave it to the gentle reader to decide if the reason was merely to see where his property was from the air or was it to make sure the bundles didn't land on his neighbor's property. Maybe Mena was getting too crowded at the time.

Seems to me that if you drew a 20' circle centered on the property corner, that 3/4 of that circle would be the neighbor's property.
