Another rainy day. Made it through the Freedom Festival gig yesterday without any rain, although rain might have been better than the gnats. Will head to the Merchentile in Garrison this afternoon to hear Savage Hearts.

Good beautiful, cooler, drier and less windy morning.
Managed to pick up a lot of the fallen wood yesterday and mowed about 1/3 of the place. I'll try to mow the rest today. This yard cleanup thing is getting as common as unloading the dishwasher.
Happy Sunday.

Rained like crazy 45 minutes ago. Now it is clear and sunny. I have a feeling we are going to have our first steamy summer day. Have a good one.

Out with the dog early and later, about 90 casual minutes on a bike in between. Had a neighbor over for coffee and breakfast--wife's been busy with a local conference this weekend.

I just unloaded my first of 7 firings for Denver (and reloaded #2). It was better than a potter should have hoped for.
No, I didn't just say that out loud.

Good Morning Good People
Pleasant summer morning, thunderstorms predicted this evening.
Two out of three bicycles functioning. A mountain bike tire replacement that should have taken 15 minutes took an hour and a half. Slightly fatter tire made it necessary to take the brakes apart to get the tire back on and the not-so-quick release on the brakes reconnected. (Did I mention I have become a believer in disk brakes?) Tube replacement this afternoon on the old road bike, maybe a short ride.
Off to church, followed by a nap and office time. Gotta get a cost estimate to a client on Monday morning so I can do field work in a ditch on Wednesday. It involves the groundwater-surface water interface exposure pathway.
Have a fine summer Sunday one and all.

Good morning. It'll be a day of seeing Diane's extended family in Las Vegas. Luckily I like them. The uncle whose 80th birthday we're here to celebrate is one of my role models for aging: endlessly curious, always active and good-humored. Enjoy your day.

Good morning.
76F/23C Cloudy, rain likely.
Slept in, now munching on bagels and cream cheese. Once I get enough caffeine in me I'll start house chores cuz the place looks like something out of a Mad Max movie.
Pine Ialand 91F.

Yesterday we got a call from our friend Mark Z( Symborsky).we have been friends for 27 years. He was my trainer in the gym. We surfed together, climbed together, rode bikes together. Ow he lives in the local mountains and has added river guide to his list of odd jobs.
I made three trips on the Kern River this week, hitting Class 3 rapids. Class 4 will bounce you and get you dialed. Class 5 will toss you out of the boat . Class 6 will drown you and very few even try it.
It was a fun afternoon starting above Kernville at the Powerhouse rapids. We all got soaked with 48 degree water in the first class 3. We hit three more wild rapids, cekebrated with a liter of lemonade with Whiskey. On our way up the canyon we saw Search and Rescue gathered by the river on the side of the freeway. We found out later they were searching for an 11year old girl who had disappeared in the river.
On our way home, the canyon freeway was closed due to a fatal auto wreck. We returned to Kernville to eat, figuring the road would eventually be cleared so I could use ,y ticket to see Dave Alvin and Jimmy Dale Gilmore. We got home at 9:20. By then I was so tired I skipped the concert.

Gardening today. Soon to find out if the hedge trimmer starts for the first time in over a year.
Yesterday, saw a really nice OO shortscale Birds eye Maple and Engleman advertised on Wildwood's website. Really pretty guitar and they were over the moon about its tone. It sold within 6 hours of hitting the website. 5.6k. Oh well, Nita would a killed me anyway if I pulled the trigger.

When I was in Nashville a couple of months ago a Konkoly 000 came up on Carter’s site @ $6500. I emailed Joe to let me know and in the time that took, it sold. It was listed for slightly over an hour. I was surprised at how fast it went.

A lovely, lovely time was had by all at Paella Fest 2019 yesterday at Chez Radtke in Lakeland, Minn.
It was grand to see and hear Dub and Joy, Mister Letson, Glenn Elwig, Marty and Da Wife, and of course Lonnie's partner Patti, as well as all of the Radtkes' many friends from near and far. The food was fantastic, the weather was pleasant and the fellowship was wonderful. I played as long at one sitting as I have in some time, and my hands hurt like hell today, but I'd do it again if given the opp. Funny how they don't hurt when I am actually playing!
A thousand thank-yous, David and Melva, for being such generous hosts, and for being America's Fun Couple -- Barb and I had a great time.

Wish I could see Dub and Joy, but their shows keep getting rained out.
Trying to heal, the stitches look like my doctor's name was F. N. Stein. They really don't hurt, what does hurt was the skin that got removed when I pulled the bandaging off. I have several scabs that are healing over from that. They are right where my arm would hit the body of a guitar too.
The sun is trying to come out and my wife is insisting that I stay home for at least one more day. We'll see.

Our Patsy job went OK last night. Big small town festival weekend in Barrett MN where they have one of the few really nice old time dance pavilions around. We were well paid but it was cold and drizzling and there were probably only 30-40 people there all night and most of the dancers were six drunk women dancing with each other and a few old couples that just came out for the waltzes. Cool place though.

Decent gig last night. We played at our keyboardist's wedding. Subsequently spent most of the day marveling at what happens when several sites of chronic pain decide to coordinate for a synchronized onslaught all day. Boring is the proper British understatement to describe that.

That's an outdoor arena, Terry?
I'm glad Paella Fest went well, but of course it did. Why wouldn't it?
Nice concert at the Farmer's Merc today. Paleo and Phil were there, so there's three forumites in representation. Nice afternoon with a largish crowd, and the rain stayed away all day.

Second to Bill's praise for the Radtke Hospitality Corp.'s fiesta. Fine chow, interesting guests, and nice weather (don't know who they bribed to get that--it was supposed to rain). I played guitar until my fingers hurt, which is something that rarely happens. Sore fingers, I mean. Also met two quite charming cats, and my guitar cases got thoroughly sniffed over by our bunch when I got home.
