"In my experience, people who single-mindedly rise to greatness can often be somewhat unsatisfying to be around." That's one reason I didn't name any artists. That’s where I’m at too. Plus, I figure most of the great minds are remembered today mostly because whatever they had to say was recorded and remembered. What would I gain from spending 90 minutes with them over food and drink? The interesting ones are likely the geniuses who were never recognized and whose thoughts/work are lost to history. I’ve been introduced to and sat with famous people and I never had any idea what to say to them. I don’t think there are any people in history or currently famous that I’d enjoy having lunch with as much as the good friends that surround me now. I’m a very lucky guy.

Besides all the people we've lost here? They'd be my first choice. After that, heroic explorers who did not exploit the people they met or worked with, or promoters of peace.

My paternal and maternal grandfathers who died before I was born, my maternal grandmother who died when I was three. Both my parents, and my son.
That’s six. Deal with it.

That's one reason I didn't name any artists. A lot of people would love to have a van Gogh in their condo, but nobody would want van Gogh in their condo...

And everyone knows that a van doesn't go in the condo. It stays in the garage.
