I fill all of them each morning and drink it all in 45 seconds. I like plastic thermal mugs -- they don't break if you drop them.

Hell, half of the unbreakable mugs I have I got for FREE. LJ, I'd consider selling you some of my unbreakable mugs, if you're interested. (Some need washing.)

I don't have a Baughman mug for the reason Bill mentioned. But if you have never baked a Dutch apple pie in his stoneware, you are missing out.

I DON'T use that much lead. Hardly any. Some. But only a little. Like Flint, MI. Just a tiny bit.

I also use my Bauman mugs (no autocorrect here), and they make my Dunkin taste like nectar of the gods. Especially before seeing patients. Batman Bauman mugs (like all Bauman stoneware) are beyond doubt miraculous and rank as the world’s finest. However I doubt that even the special magic of a Bauman mug could change Dunkin’ Donuts coffee into wine a potable beverage. That would really be expecting too much. The money is below the third fret. the get it started is at the DD. The working man's delite. Or the semi retired dude.

My son stole one of my Batman pieces. I found the leaf plate in his house wondering what happened to it,

I'm surprised Drlj hasn't used this thread to expound on the virtues of Keurig coffee makers. He wouldn't be able to survive without his.

I don't have a Baughman mug for the reason Bill mentioned. Yeahbut, all winter long (3 seasons actually) I walk around with a hot ceramic mug in my mits. I only sip a little here and there. I regularly go back to the microwave and reheat the liquid and mug. I enjoy it for the warmth in imparts to my hands. Can't get that from plastic.

Sorry, Marshall. Even in one of John's mugs coffee is screwed up by reheating in a microwave. But John's mugs survive the microwave intact. It leaches the lead right out of them.

Unless you are eating tomato soup out of a low fired bowl, your chance of picking up lead from ceramic is highly unlikely. And you won't pick it up at all from any ceramic that is fired above 2300o
