Nope, haven't seen it. Fortunately we are in a position where we can wait.

We are too. We've donated a chunk of it to the food bank for people who can't wait. It's overwhelmed right now. We discussed stimulating the economy with the rest. I don't need anything, though, and I can't see spending money just to spend it.

We got ours by direct deposit about as soon as the program started.
About $700 is going to new floor covering in the laundry room. Nancy determined that the flooring there was "failing." I asked "Failing to do what? Looks like a floor to me." I never got an answer, but we are getting a new floor.

I kept trying the irs.gov get my payment website to tell me anything and it kept saying it couldn't determine if I was eligible.
Then 2+ weeks ago (while I was in the hospital and had nothing better to do) I tried again and it changed to, we know you are eligible for it, just that, nothing more.
Then 2 weeks ago today, it said it knew I was eligible, but I needed to prove who I was and put in my bank account information for direct deposit.
Then all last week it said, we are going to pay you to your account that you gave us, we just don't know when.
Then Saturday it said it would be deposited on Wednesday of this week and it was in my account on Wednesday.

You can check your status at the link below, as well as enter bank account info for direct deposit (much faster than paper checks). I did it for myself and for several clients. www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

Today’s paper has a story about all the dead people getting checks. I guess they want to get all the dead folks out of the way before all the live people. One check came addressed to “Sally Jones*, Deceased.” No one can accuse her of lying.
*Name changed to protect the privacy of the dead.

I entered my ID material, and it came right back with: "We scheduled your check to be mailed on May 15, 2020, to the address we have on file for you. We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment." Maybe they had to wait for somebody to sign the check.

Is there a deceased discount?

However, communication can sometimes be an issue.

As an update, if you want direct deposit, the IRS says sign up now. Otherwise paper checks will sent in late May or sometime in June.
*****
In an Information Release, IRS has urged taxpayers who qualify for, but have not already received, their CARES Act economic impact payment (EIP), to provide direct deposit information on IRS's Get My Payment website by noon on Wednesday, May 13 if they wish to get their EIP via direct deposit and thus avoid the delay involved in receiving a paper check. Nevermind. If the filing is joint, either spouse can submit the required DD information.
I just entered my direct deposit information (my SS#, address, required tax form info).
My wife and I file jointly.
Do I also need to enter my wife's info (SS#, address, required tax info)?

Say, you could make nice all-wood caskets and equip them with a built-in escape hatch and a compact auger.

I've heard lawyers say that practicing law would be great if it weren't for the clients. You seem to have solved that problem, John. You won't get many arguments from those folks.

My lovely bride and I got our money directly deposited in our checking account on the very first day the money started flowing. Being mostly retired and living simply, the pandemic hasn't affected us too much financially, except for a few retirement investments that thankfully we shouldn't need to access for a few years. We were able to pass along some money to the local food bank and other charitable organizations we try to support. There are a lot of people in our area that are out of work because of the pandemic. I don't think society will recover from this for a very long time and even then the world will be a very different place than we knew it.
