Lots of mass and damping with a bridge that big. I am sure it sounds great but it would be interesting to see how the same guitar sounded with a light Martin style Brazilian bridge. I bet it would be even better. Marty have you ever seen that conversion done? You’’d have to at least refinish the top. No, way too much work unless you were doing a top refin anyway. Gibson knew that bridge was too big, that's why the cut out areas, get the mass down a little. Gibson also did rather large bridges on the Dove and Heritage models, those were ebony, really bad idea.
