Most of the world would strenuously disagree with (and probably disapprove of) many of my most strongly-held beliefs. So it goes. You just drew the circle big enough such that A can now equal non-A. And they said it couldn't be done. “He drew a circle that shut me out- Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout. But love and I had the wit to win: We drew a circle and took him In!” It's hard to be us. "Us". You mean, like, you and me?

Comparing the Cultural Revolution and annoyance at things like personnel changes at the NYT op-ed page seems a bit of a stretch to me.

Comparing the Cultural Revolution and annoyance at things like personnel changes at the NYT op-ed page seems a bit of a stretch to me. The shaming culture is analogous to what's happening in that famous photo, if less in-your-face. But much of it is just as nasty.
