It’s gonna be hot for the next few days. 98-100. Not doing too much. Gonna barbecue this morning so I don’t have to do it in the hottest part of the day. Terriyaki chicken for a Asian salad this eve. Di a ribeye last night hat came out fab. And that’s it.

Slept in this morning against the backdrop of pitter-patter on the roof thanks to overnight rains, got a few household chores done, then did some online research for a Sunday mini-roadtrip, which has become a habit for me recently.
What I came up with was a run to the charming Miss River town of Red Wing via back roads out of Hastings. Once there I would phone in a takeout BBQ order from Smokin' Oak, pick that up and take different backroads home.
Plan worked like a charm, and the rib/chicken combo w/ baked beans and slaw is excellent. I earned it, dammit, with all that driving exertion!

I know I should have been in a Buick for this exercise, given my age demographic, but I drive what I drive, dammit.

Yah, boy. My Grandmother's blue Skylark convertible (probably a '67) was the bees knees.

P.S. I know I should have been in a Buick for this exercise, given my age demographic, but I drive what I drive, dammit. My very first car was a Buick. A 1968 Buick Electra 225. Man, did I love driving that car. It was a big as a boat and and had a HUGE trunk. I was still playing gigs when I bought that car. It was unbelievable the amount of stuff I could fit in that trunk and the back seat of that car. I loved it.
